Answer:	A little WD40 first and a snug fitting large screw driver. After once removed the screws come out easily.

Answer:	We do a lot of beef jerky. It does slice it raw, but not great. However, it works phenomenally when it's partially frozen.

Answer:	This slicer would probably slice small pieces of frozen meat such as narrow sausage rolls. I mainly use it to slice jerky meat, which I partially thaw before slicing. Two items should be noted about this slicer: (1) the blade must be removed for proper cleaning and (2) the instructions were not written by someone knowledgeable in English.

Answer:	The manual says it will slice up to 3/4"

Answer:	Raw meat doesn't slice well if it is raw and it releases blood that can contaminate the slicer. I don't freeze the meat, but I do put it in the freezer for an hour or two and then it slices very well.

Question:	what is the rpm of the motor. Mine seems to run at about 50-75 revolutions per minute. Seems slow

I was nervous at first about how slow the blade rotates.. not reassuring to me.. not sure how that is good for the motor.. so my concern is longevity.. seems to slice things ok, however.. also considering it's output of electricity used you cannot expect professional grade. Good for NOT everyday use

Let It Do Its Thing

Don't force it! People often make the mistake of pushing the food carriage across the blade too forcefully. It should glide right through. When you force the slicer, you wear down the motor, and slow the blade. If you go with the flow, your slicer could last you a lifetime.

Keep the Food Cold

Cold is better. Fully frozen isn't good for any meat slicer. The ice crystals are too hard, and they will dull your blade and overwork the motor. But really cold and/or somewhat frozen is perfect. We recommend placing meats into the freezer for 30 minutes before slicing. Fish can be more frozen.

Create a Flat Surface

Cut item in half before slicing to create a flat surface. Face the surface against the blade. This will make a world of difference. If you start with an oddly shaped end, you'll get off to a bad start and have a tough time slicing uniform pieces.

Question:	Does this only run for 10 minutes
Answer:	The carriage that allows you to feed an item into the slicer pulls out to about a distance of 10 inches between its handle and the surface of the blade. So you could cut something 10 inches in diameter for a 10 inch slice. You could potentially make a longer slice, but then you would have to feed the item in by hand and need to watch your fingers...
Question:	How loud is the motor
Answer:	The 615 is very easy to break down for cleaning. Lol, I have 5 thumbs when it comes to mechanical engineering, and even I have no problems. It's not a complicated piece of equipment. I think it's one of the best designed slicers out there. Especially for the money.

We had a slicer that was around $100 (don't remember the brand) and almost every time the meat touched the blade, the gear would skip and it was a huge hassle to use. Answer:	ebay. There is a wealth of sharpeners there at varying costs. I have had great success with a very simple knife sharpener with opposing wheels. Looks like a knife handle with a dual set of wheels on the end. Just run the slicer and let the sharpener do its thing. You can pick one up of these vintage sharpeners on ebay for about $5-$10 (Or less in auction). This will get you many sharpenings. A new blade wheel is about $35. Pick up a cheap sharpener on ebay and slice on!
