Answer:	Mine has a black bottom and no alarm. Although it shut off, because I expected an alarm (like that the one i had previously) I didn’t notice when it had finished. Question:	WHY do you have to poke a hole in the top of egg when hard boiling? If the egg bubbles out the hole, what's the purpose
Answer:	It's important to poke the hole into the fat end of the egg. This is because each egg has an air pocket at this end. And set the egg into the tray with the hole up so that this sulphury air can properly escape. You're venting the nasty stuff that you don't want infusing into the egg. Venting makes the eggs look great and taste great. Just remember, wide-end up.
Question:	Does this item have an automatic shut off
Answer:	Mine (the stainless steel with "No Alert" option) shuts off automatically. I've noticed that it will cut back on if left alone for several minutes, though. I guess the water drips back down from the dome and the sensor thinks it's time to cook again. Since that happened, I try to flip the switch off right after they're done.

But if the cooking time is determined as I think it is...by the amount of water per egg as noted on the water cup, the only variant should be how long it takes to boil the water out before the timer goes off. Answer:	You're correct— it doesn't make sense. I believe you're referring to the measurements on the included cup. I have a different cooker (the SimpleTaste) with the same problem— the measurement markings were embossed incorrectly. You •do• need more water for more eggs and/or longer cooking time. For one egg, I have to use the 6&7 mark, and for two eggs, the 5 mark, etc. I still have to play with the amount of water used, but going by the cup you'd over cook one egg and undercook 7. MAYBE somewhere in between it would be right.

Answer:	The piercing tool is to prick eggs on the end when you plan to have a hard boiled egg. Some say it keeps the shell from cracking or that it helps the bottom stay round rather than flat. I don't prick mine and they are fine. I'm not making deviled eggs that have to look good. Answer:	If you have another way to measure water in milliliters, here’s what my cup says: 5-7 soft boiled =20 ml or 4 tsp. 1-4 soft boiled=30 ml or 2 Tbsp. 5-7 medium=a shade less than 35 ml or 2 Tbsp plus 1 tsp. 1-4 medium=40 ml or 2 Tbsp plus 2 tsp 5-7 hard=almost 65 ml or 4 Tbsp plus 1 tsp 7-14 hard (great for deviled eggs)=70 ml or 4 Tbsp plus 2 tsp 1-4 hard=about 75 ml, or 5 Tbsp Omelet/poached line=40 ml, or 2 Tbsp plus 2 tsp (did not have a measurement noted, but it lines up perfectly with the 40 ml line on the front.) As an aside, a full load of 14 hard boiled eggs, cold from the fridge, turned off at 22 minutes. If you leave them too long without rinsing and cooling, the yolks overcook. How to Boiling Eggs：

1. Firstly, remove the lid and then take out the egg tray and poachers from the egg cooker.

2. According to the desired consistency of the eggs to be cooked (soft, medium or hard boiled eggs). Use the measuring cup to adjust the accurate water pouring into the heating plate.

3. Prepare the number of eggs to be cooked (up to 14 eggs at most). Use the egg piercer to create a small hole in the larger end of each egg and then place them securely into the egg tray holes.

4. Place the cover on to the egg boiler, plug in and switch on the egg cooker at the mains power supply.

5. Once the water has completely evaporated and the eggs are cooked, the indicator light and egg cooker will automatically switch off.

6. Turn the power off after the cooking process has finished. Carefully remove the eggs because they will have become hot during the cooking process.

You can also mix 1 or 2 eggs like your making an omelet .The directions leave you hanging as far as how much water to use for poaching and omelets. Some users suggested using the water level for 1 medium well egg and make slight adjustment from there.

Answer:	The 6 Cup rice cooker is non-stick. The 10 Cup and 20 Cup models' inner pot is STAINLESS STEEL and not coated with a "non-stick" coating. I bought the 20 Cup and it works great for me. It's easy to clean after using if one soaks the pot in warm soapy water for a bit to allow the hardened rice to loosen up. So, if you click on the 6 CUP it indicates "non-stick". If you click on either the 10 CUP or 20 CUP it indicates "stainless steel".
