Answer:	The sides are thick plastic kind of like a bake a light material, I didn’t notice it getting overly hot I was able to pick it up by the sides and slide it over when it was toasting bread. I was Unfamiliar with this brand but so far I’ve been pleased with his performance.

Answer:	Somebody in China. Lots of different brands on Amazon. Look close, all the same. Probably not a bad design, just poorly executed/manufactured. Toasts very unevenly, look at the heating elements with power on, the problem is obvious. Typical cheap stuff.

Answer:	I would say it did not smoke, but one has to follow the directions on first using it. It's to be run several times without anything in it to rid it of things that are there in the manufacturing process. There was an odor, but in following directions, there was no longer a problem.

Question:	How do you know if the bagel button is on or off? There is no light and it doesnt get pushed in and out
Answer:	The buttons have to be turned on each time after you push down the lever, they click slightly when pushed. When the toast pops up or you hit the cancel button, it cancels all other buttons and you start over with the next time you toast. I haven't even used it yet, just got it today but I was interested to figure it out because of this question. The instructions do tell you that the buttons cancel out with the cancel button. Read your instuctions again.

Answer:	It has decent specs, but it runs a little hot. The case is also a little basic, I recommend adding some some custom lighting. So far I've only played "I am Bread" on it, but it worked fine. The dual DVD+R burners are pretty nifty too; I don't know what speed they are, but it burns them pretty fast.

Question:	Does the inside cage that holds the bread moves sideways to open up and close as the bread is inserted? (Not sure how to describe this but some do
Answer:	Bread is top loaded. When the lever is pushed down the inside "cage" closes around the items. This allows for thicker items or thinner items. I love this toaster.
Question:	When toasting larger quanitys of bread (like for a family breakfast) are the results consistent first slice to last. Thanks for your help........Paul
Answer:	I have only toasted 2 consecutive full toasters of bread not 4 or 5, but for 2 the results are comparable. In other words, the second batch is consistent with the first in toasting level.
Question:	how long is the slot? how deep
Answer:	Hi Karen. It is 5" deep. 1" wide. 5 1/2" long. I unpluged it and used a small measuring tape so I could assure my accuracy.Inez
Question:	On the Bagel setting, does it toast only on one side? Some toasters advertise this feature
Answer:	Bagel setting toasts on both sides. I usually also push defrost at the same time. The result is usually, as I like it or a little less so. If needed I push it down (using 'regular) and try to recall before it is too burned:-) Since I toast many different things in the toaster I prefer using a single setting and adjusting my toasting manually. This sometimes means a 2nd cycle/button push. NO toaster will do all the variations I use with a single setting. This one does a decent job and is cute, small, and cheap.

When your bread is finished toasting, the toaster carriage pops up. Sometimes the size of the bread may prevent the bread for popping clear out of the toaster.
