Answer:	Frankly, I only paid $275 for a demo model. It was just like new but no original packaging. It appears to be a quality product and matches my kitchen appliances. I was also tired of replacing cheap toasters over the years. Would I do it again? Don't know..... ask me in 10 years!

Answer:	This toaster is made in China. If you are looking for toasters made in the USA, try looking for Polytron and/or Hobart corporation. I have owned a Polytron 2 slice toaster made in the USA for over 3 years, and it works great. The 4 slice toaster is made by the same company but goes under the name Hobart. You can search for "Polytron toaster" in Google. Bought mine through a vintage toaster repair guy in New York. Price is similar to Wolf toaster. Hope this helps.

Answer:	The mounting should be used on round rod. When we installed this closet, we used oval rods thru-out, except in area where tierack was installed. There we used round rod.

Answer:	I just purchased this item last week and the item came exactly as pictured. I think that the confusion has arisen because the basket comes flattened out and inside of a plastic container that has rope handles around it. The plastic container is for transporting the basket when the basket is collapsed (flattened). So the rope handles are NOT on the basket itself.

HOW TO USE AND CARE FOR YOUR ROASTER OVEN 1. Unpack your Nesco Roaster Oven completely and remove all packaging material and information labels. Place the Roaster Oven in a well ventilated area on a heat resistant surface. Set the control dial to its minimum setting. Plug the cord into a 120 volt AC outlet. Return control to maximum setting (450-degrees F). Operate the Roaster Oven empty (without the cookwell or cover) for approximately 60 minutes, or until any odor or smoking disappears. Some smoke and odor are a normal part of "curing" the element and will not reoccur in cooking use. When curing is completed, turn the temperature control to its lowest setting, unplug the unit from the electrical outlet and allow to cool. 2. Wash the cover, cookwell and rack in warm sudsy water, then rinse and dry. Refer to complete cleaning instructions in manual. 3. Non-stick cookwell: When 'curing' your Roaster Oven with a non-stick cookwell, we recommend that it be operated with cover and cookwell. Do this in a covered outside area or other well-ventilated area. After curing and cleaning, and before cooking in your non-stick cookwell for the first time, lightly coat the interior of the cookwell with vegetable oil.



HELPFUL HINTS Preheat roaster oven for 20 minutes. Roasting meat in your Nesco Roaster Oven keeps it moist and tender. For additional browning, you can add 1 tbsp. browning sauce to oil and brush over skin before roasting. To sear meat, preheat Roaster Oven at 450-degrees F. Add margarine. Cover, then sear meat for 10 to 15 minutes per side until lightly browned. Stir ground meat once. Time will vary depending on the quantity of meat. Alternative browning method for self-basting turkeys, preheat at 400-degrees F for 20 minutes. Roast bird for 1 hour at 400-degrees F. Reduce heat to 350-degrees using included time chart, 13-18 minutes per pound. During last hour of roasting increase temperature to 400-degrees and remove all excess juices in bottom of cookwell.

Question:	I need one with a lid which seals well. Does the lid on this interlock with the rest of the unit or does the lid merely rest on the rim
Answer:	No. I'm not sure how the others saying "yes" define searing, but there is not enough heat on the bottom to sear. The heating element is only around the side walls, so the only heat on the bottom is what is conducted indirectly from the sides. After having the unit on 425 for 30 minutes, it will evaporate drops of water, but slowly (no rolling ball droplets that indicate searing temp). There is not enough heat to get a med-high sear as you would on a stovetop. I wish it stated more clearly that the element is only on the sides. I couldn't find that information on Amazon or Nesco's own site. I'm still looking for a true one pot solution that allows both searing and slow cooking without switching pans and/or appliances.
