Answer:	The chute on mine from the '70's is thick plastic and is lined with stainless steel, not the vertical part, and the blade piece is really thick plastic with rows of serrated blades, easily cleaned with a denture brush-not a tooth brush. When juice bars began in the '70's this was what they used and if you're going to be making a lot of juice even if not the extra bit of money for the commercial grade is worth it, it's why mine is as good today as when we bought it. It can juice wheatgrass but it works best if you combine it with carrots or apples, harder things so you can alternate as you juice. You'll want something wide with a pouring spout or just a bowl to catch the juice underneath the chute and a bigger bowl at the end where the pulp comes out, it will come out as dry as can be and makes good compost. It's a very powerful juicer and will last you a lifetime, with parts available from the manufacturer, it's easy to take apart for cleaning, the twist on/off chute is all one piece with the bottom spout that holds the screen in place just slides off, the blade piece slides off/on the motor stem, handle with care, and the wooden-still? pusher is all you have to clean. The juice bars had two or three of these plus blenders for smoothies, Captain Midnights were a great carob, banana, protein powder, honey, milk and ice combo, with a scoop of ice cream option, that satisfied, was enough for two people. Carrot with dandelion greens and or wheatgrass or just about any combo you can imagine can be made with this thing, it's a good investment for your health and can always be sold used for almost what you paid for it, they're that good!

Answer:	It is so simple to answer that , it will last 30 or more years ! I have one I bought in 1982 and I did buy another to have for two ! The best on the market if you ask me . I can juice 25 lbs. of carrots with no problem. I did have to replace the blade after 33 years ! I love mine !!

Answer:	It doesn't take long. I would say 2 minutes. Parts come off very easily and just wash them under lukewarm water. Brush the screen/filter for 15 seconds. We use this machine almost everyday.

Answer:	I just got the machine and only used it once, but if you check the manual under Troubleshooting, page 38, it states "the food processor shuts off during operation," it explains about motor overload and the LCD light flashing. Not sure if that's the problem, but was the only one I could find. Good luck!

Answer:	I have been juicing since 1973. The Breville is a superior quality machine. Only a Norwalk press is better. The price of this machine is a steal! To get carrot discoloration off, soak in bleach water periodically for 12-24 hours. 1/2 cup of bleach in enough water to submerge the parts completely ( 5 gallon bucket half full). Rinse thoroughly and scrub down with soft plastic scrubber or brush, assemble the machine and run it with jar and pulp bin on. Run cool water through it in smallish bursts. Then run until dry. Let air out for at least a few hours. I guarantee it is harmless. I’ve been using that technique for 45 years.

Answer:	The juicer is very high powered. The juicer needs to be cleaned after the pitcher provided is full. I juice celery bunches with great success.

Answer:	Do not try to pull up the grinding basket. Feel around and pull up the black assembly that basket sits in gently. Practice a few times and it will become easier.

Answer:	I don't peel anything but the oranges because the instructions clearly say that the thicker skins could damage the juicer. The only time I cut something up is if it's too big to go into the feeding area. Otherwise I don't do any extra prep.

Question:	Is the pulp very wet? I am looking into this and a few have said that the Breville models leave very wet pulp
Answer:	I had this juicer in the past and the pulp is as other described..dampish saw dust. However, I have recently gotten the Breville JE98XL Juice Fountain Plus 850-Watt Juice Extractor which I dislike. The pulp for that is wet and the way it shoots the pulp out to the catcher, causes spinach and other leafy veggies to shoot out into the catcher before ever getting the chance to juice. I may be going back to this original juicer as it seemed to work much better. Never had a problem with anything I juiced. And yes, much like Yams,Beets, and parsnips, potatoes have juice too...not sure why you would want to juice one though. Overall, I prefer this juicer over the other Breville models as they also leave particles in your juice (such as cucumber skins and parsley stems). I never had a problem like that with this model.

Answer:	I just got this a month ago and the box and tags from Breville state right on it that it is all BPA Free Plastic. No BPA here.

Answer:	Tons of fruits and vegetables can be juiced with this machine! But, there needs to be juice in them first. Things like Bananas, maybe potatoes, and, from the sound of it, seaweed, don't have much juice to give. You may get a little, but it will probably just mince it for you. Now, apples, oranges, carrots (surprising to me), peaches, plums, pears, berries, grapes, tomatoes: so much beautiful juice. There are more. Many, many more. Mint leaf, spinach... etc. This is a fine blender, but make sure to follow the directions on specific fruits where care must be taken (Peaches have giant pits, for example).

Answer:	I found it! I hate veggies and I started juicing. I can't take much sweet fruits so this is good! Saw this post and played with it. Enjoy Pizza flavored Green juice 2"diameter size Kumato tomatos or any tomato you like. I use Kumato Hand full of Endive about 3 leaves pulled off 1/4 of a LARGE head of Cauliflower. I used the orange cauliflower it taste the same has different nutritional values 1 to 2 hands full of baby spinach small handful baby carrots 1 three inch English cucumber AKA Hot House cucumber Not peeled. 2 1/2 oz of your favorite pizza sauce1/4 red pepperLittle bit of fresh African or Italian basil Little bit of fresh oregano Separate from veggies take 2 1/2 oz of your favorite pizza sauce. I used Von's Brand Select. DO NOT put this in with the veggies in your juicer instead put it in the juice cup the juice comes out into. This is only for the pizza flavor ! This is very good and very close to Pizza sauce without the little pizza sauce added ,I am thinking becausse of the tomatos are cooked in pizza sauce, so you might want to try the ingrediants with cooked tomato instead of pizza sauce. I figured the little amount that's put in is not bad. You're still getting all the good veggies in !Enjoy :)

Question:	Can you juice only wheatgrass ? I read that you should use a carrot (hard veg) to push down to avoid clogging, but what if I only want to juice soft
Answer:	There were not any replacement parts, but when I accidently put a seed through & broke the auger & dented the strainer. When I told them, they sent me a new one. They were great about it. I ordered their Robot Vacuum too & it works great also.
Question:	What is the correct pulp adjustment number for each vegetable and fruit? More info then just 1-2 for fruit and then the 3-5 for vegetables, please
Answer:	Carrots are Ok, but you must cut into 1 1/2" long pieces first. They also juice better if you mix celery, or cukes, etc. in the chute. Wheatgrass will juice, but you need to cut first into 1 1/2" long pieces, or they wrap around the auger, and don't feed properly. I have this concern being evaluated currently by their engineering dept. Customer service has been very responsive to my emails. Hope this helps.

Answer:	I do not own the 8006. I did buy the NC800 HDS and I am very satisfied with its operation and results. An excellent juicer.
Question:	How does this juicer do with wheatgrass and carrots
Answer:	Use a soft fruit first, strawberries, peaches etc. then a hard fruit, carrots, ginger etc. alternate between the two. The hard fruit seems clean out the filter so juice keeps a coming.
Question:	What is the warranty of this juicer? If my juicer has been used for a while, but a certain part is broken, such as the filter, what should I do
Answer:	I had a 8006 before I upgraded and I would say it's not worth it. The big difference I noticed was that I didn't have to cut cukes into four pieces lengthwise anymore, half would suffice. Since I juiced spinach everyday for the past 3 weeks on this machine and for 1 year on my old 8006 I noticed that juicing was quicker but if I still had my 8006 at the time of purchase I wouldn't have bothered with the NC800. If you have money to burn I then buy it, it's a nice enough upgrade but if you are counting pennies, don't get it.
Question:	Hi i’m new to juicing. i was wondering what do i do with the pulp after i extract the juice? are there any nutrients left in the pulp? thanks
Answer:	I just got off a half hour conversation with a really nice lady at Omega, and I had the same question. The NC800 and NC900 are identical, by the way - the only difference is the color. The differences between the NC800/900 and the 8006 is the larger chute and adjustible end-cap. That adjustible end-cap lets you fin Omee tune the amount of pulp in your juice. The lady at Omega said some people can find there's a learning curve to using the end-cap. I just ordered the NC800 because of the wider chute. By the way, the J8004 and J8006 are identical machines, just different colors: J8004 is white, J8006 is chrome COLORED (not chrome metal). The NC8004 is cheaper because it takes an extra step to apply the chrome color.

Our horizontal masticating juicers excel at celery. They will all process celery about the same. The celery attachment for the MM900HDS makes it a better unit than the J8006, J8007, and J8008 it is modeled after. The NC Series is a more elite series than the J8006, J8007, J8008, and MM900. The biggest difference is when comparing the MM900HDS to any of our J8006, J8007, or J8008 Models. The MM900HDS has a new "celery attachment" that helps the unit extract just a bit more juice out of celery and other firm items. The J800x series still do a very good job. The J800x series are all Nutrition Centers. Meaning, they have parts that allow them to make nutter butters, frozen desserts, etc. The MM900HDS is for juice only. These parts are not included. The following NC Series all share most of the same common parts. So, the juicing ability of each is exactly the same. The main difference is the motor housing material and/or finish. The juicing screen, auger, drum, etc is the same on these models. Answer:	The same happened to me wirk the inner seal. I contacted Hurom customer service via email, they sent me a replacement part for free very quickly.

Answer:	You can order them from Hurom, however I don’t see how they would break. They are heavy duty and I hand wash them.
Question:	How to clean the filter easily
Answer:	Yes, the carrot pulp comes out the discharge chute in a hurry and makes great juice. One of my heart healthy juice recipes has carrots, beets, apples, oranges and lemons in it and it’s a favorite of mine. The time you spend prepping (cutting into smaller pieces) is well worth it, as there are virtually no jam ups or blockages then. Too large a piece winds up slowing you down. Celery juice is another daily fav that is easy to do if you cut it into smaller pcs, typically 4” long. Lots of juice and very dry pulp that is tightly packed in the discharge chute but easy to remove when you’re in clean up mode, just flip the chute locking handle and separate, comes right out in one piece. Clean up is a breeze, just warm running water and set down on a towel to dry. Those long slots in the strainer are a great design improvement that aids in the quick, no hassle clean up. Love it.
