Answer:	The description says that it can make frozen yogurt - to just use the ice cream setting. Cook's has a delicious recipe for frozen ginger yogurt, including instructions on how to keep it from tasting chalky or being too "icy".

Answer:	I bought the Tovolo Ice cream tubs and they are very sturdy with a removable inner plastic liner for easy cleaning. The large bowl itself that fits inside the machine is not supposed to have ice cream frozen in it because it can damage it. I leave the empty bowl in my freezer until I'm ready to make a batch and then empty the contents into a Tovolo tub. I looked at other tubs but this brand seemed to have the best reviews, was reusable, and decent in price. They fit about 1.5 quarts and I have a little extra in the machine that I either eat or just put in a small Tupperware dish. I know you can go directly on the Cuisinart website if you need any part numbers for a specific model. I did see extra bowls for the machine on their site and on amazon. Just get your model number for your machine and type that in the search box.

Answer:	There's no way to disable the beep, as far as I'm aware. However, I will say it isn't an annoying or continues beep. The kettle beeps a "short beep" when it's boiled and that's it. TBH until I read your question, I'd forgotten that my kettle beeped, I guess I just got used to it.

Answer:	All plastic handle, though on photo seems that the upper part of the handle is made of steel. And it feels and looks cheap. Water side level window is made out of thick plastic, which does not look good too.

One (or both) is getting bad reviews for things like static discharge in the plastic grounds collector. I came here intending to buy a burr grinder and interested in buying a grinder/percolator. Question:	Can you make ice cream using no eggs and in place of cream can you use soy milk, or almond milk
Answer:	I don't use eggs with my ice cream. Unfortunately I have not used soy or almond milk. I have used heavy whipping cream, and I want to try original greek yogurt, or the vanilla. It could be interesting.
Question:	why won't it freeze
Answer:	After owning two different ice cream makers and using them often, I learned a few dos and don'ts. One of them is never rush the freezing of the bowl. It must be frozen for at least 24 hours in your freezer set to 0°f. And it should be set back from the door or lid of the freezer. Try not to open the freezer during this time. Chill but do not freeze the paddle. Chill the mix at least 24 hours-do not freeze. During hot and humid weather, you will not get even soft ice cream if the area you are using is not out of drafts. Cover the hole at the top with a saucer of folded tea towel. The ice cream making process is a little fussy but well worth the results, really impresses the grandkids. Expect a frozen custard like consistency that you can repack and place in the freezer to ripen and firm up.
Question:	Do I have to pre-chill the bowl in my refrigerator's freezer or is everything done in the Cuisinart Ice cream maker
Answer:	Yes, you have to put the bowl in the freezer for 18-24 hours. I store my bowl in the freezer so it's always ready. The double walled bowl is filled with something that freezes and that how the ingredients freeze. The actual ice cream making time is only 25-30 minutes once the ingredients are put in the bowl.
Question:	The mixture froze to the sides of the bowl and the rest remained watery. I did NOT add my ingredients before starting machine. Blade moves with bowl. Is this right
Answer:	Once your mixture is good and ready, get the bowl out of the freezer and install it in place: the round opening should be up, and the cross blade should be at the bottom, with the external knob fitting in the little hole at the bottom of your bowl. Also the clear plastic dome must be locked in place on the motor base. Turn Cuisinart ON BEFORE you pour the mixture into the freezer bowl as instructed in the Cuisinart booklet. (NOTE: ingredients must be added to the freezer bowl after unit is turned on).

Answer:	Only happens if you don't cycle with clear water and no coffee a couple of times after the cleaning cycle.

Answer:	1 kit or box has 2 packets + a test strip for water hardness. Each packet is for 1 descaling. Descale every 3 to 4 months depending on water hardness (I filter my water). White vinegar & water will also work as a descaler. Check the internet for how to.
Question:	Does this make regular coffe
Answer:	My particular coffee machine KRUPS KM9008 recommends mixing powder with 16 ounces of water,pouring into the water fill tank,and starting the machine. Be sure to remove filter first,if your machine has one! .Allow half of the liquid to run through,then switch off machine and let stand for 1 hour.then restart machine to complete the brewing cycle.Discard liquid and rinse machine by running it through 2 full cycles with water only.
Question:	Is it possible to use filtered water in place of the Krups cartridge
Answer:	There are only two packages in this box and I ended up using half a package of the crystals at a time, getting four uses out of the box. I did purchase another item that comes in a three pack with four packets in each for a total of 12 uses by Urnex Dezcal for about the same price. Just received them and have not tried them, but the Krups worked very well and if these do not work as well, I will purchase the Krups again. I have fairly hard water and need to use the product more frequently than most do. There are no instructions with it, but another poster had suggested dissolving the crystals in half a pot of water, pour in coffee maker, let it begin to filter through, turn off the coffee maker and let it sit for about 20 minutes and then turn on again. That worked very well, and then run a couple of pots using just plain water to completely clean the unit before brewing a pot of coffee.

Question:	How do I keep the blade from freezing
Answer:	The freezer must be clean and dry when you start any ice crystals will block movement of the blade. As soon as you put the blade in the ice cream maker you must turn it on and keep the blade moving. don't stop the blade til you are done or it will freeze in place.
