Question:	Why won't my lid stay on
Answer:	Because the plastic dasher/paddle gets warped (at first I thought it was from washing the paddle in the dishwasher, but I'm on my second machine after maybe five years and washing it in hot water after using it seems to have done the same thing so perhaps it's just from use) and so it doesn't revolve "flatly" in the circular groove in the clear plastic cover when it's placed on top. I find that eventually it seems to settle down and revolve evenly without any wobbling, so to speak. Rather than use tape, I've used a small but heavy pan with a base a bit larger than the top of the machine set on top of the clear plastic cover until it's revolving evenly - maybe the first five minutes of use. Other than that, and the need to use a hard - but not too hard: it has to have some flex - plastic utensil to remove the last of the frozen ice cream from the interior bottom and sides of the freezer bowl because it's made of aluminum and scratches incredibly easily, it's a terrific unit.
Question:	my machine will not freeze the mixture after the tub in freezer for a week. its like cold milk with some ice. two different batches same results.Why
Answer:	Quality ice cream from plain milk?? no way! I use half and half along with heavy cream and get the most delicious ice cream you can imagine! and in only 25 minutes. Also turn your freezer down. If your freezer is empty it may not even go to zero degrees! I clean and rinse the tub quickly and return it to the freezer quickly. Its still mostly frozen when I put it back in and only takes 2-3 hours to refreeze completely! I bought a second tub but never need to use it! This thing has worked perfectly for me and everyone loves my ice cream! The secret is in the better ingredients. more costly yes...but sooo worth it! My recipe: 3cups of half and half. 2cups of heavy cream. 1&1/2 cups of C&H sugar dissolved in the cream. 2 table spoons of imitation vanilla. 1 tiny pinch of salt. Try you will love it! Please don't order a round steak and expect a filet mignon. life does not happen that way. ENJOY!

Question:	For the hand crank (not the electric) attachment, are the gears all metal or are they plastic
Answer:	I believe they are a combination of both. Only the very old White Mountain hand crank ones were all metal gears. The plastic ones today, make it easier to crank, due to less friction, but are less sturdy of course.
Question:	Does the motor stop automatically when done
Answer:	NO! The motor will slow down, and turn very slowly, so you have to keep your ears tuned to the mixer. Once it slows, and stop from the ice cream being thick, you need to unplug as soon as possible or you could burn up your motor. Nothing to fear, just keep an ear and an eye on it, so when it slows or stops, then unplug immediately. But it does not stop on it's own, like a sensor, or automatic shutoff switch would do. This is still old school technology.

Answer:	The frozen yogurt is superb. I have found that a quart of plain yogurt works best, with 4 raw eggs (optional, improves texture) and adding 3/4 to 1 cup sugar and 1 tsp vanilla. Fill to full level with milk or pureed fruit. it tastes like California tart and is excellent served with fruit.

Question:	Are White mountain ice-cream makers made in the USA
Answer:	NO, NO, NO....I bought one of these 4 days ago at a local retailer. It says made in USA all over the box. Before I bought it, I called the number on the website, and asked the customer support person where it was made. She told me that the parts are made in the USA, but they are assembled in Mexico. I was looking for an AMERICAN MADE, AMERICAN BUILT unit, but I was under a time crunch. Reluctantly, I bought it. I opened the box, and the first thing I saw was a sticker on the motor that said made in china, plain as day. I used this thing one time. It did work, and made ice cream as advertised, but after washing it, drying the parts, and putting it away, I looked at it again 2 days later, and the metal mechanism that the paddles attach to were rusting!! Are you kidding me?? $270.00 for one batch of ice cream! What a bargain. Needless to say I returned it today. Their own company doesn't even know where their products are made!! If it seems like I am upset, I am. Nothing is made in the USA anymore, and quality suffers tremendously. By the way, all the inside metal parts are plated, not stainless steel like they should be. The only thing I saw that was stainless was the actual cylinder. Don't waste your money. If anyone out there knows of a truly American made and American built ice cream maker, please tell us on here.

Answer:	Capacity: The 200 Ls makes 2 quarts at the most; the 15 Ls 1.6 quarts at the most, cause you can make less on both.Timer: on the 200, you can go up or down to set the time, on the 15, only down, so if you skip the time you want to enter, keep on pressing the same button till you get it right, it will start from 60 mins again and go down again.Of course the display is on a different position but those are the only differences. Both will keep cooling the ice cream if you don't take it out immediately after it finishes. The 15 doesn't display that it is mixing or that it is only cooling, but alternates the remaining time and the temperature reached.
Question:	Can the extended chilling (30 min-overnight) of mixture that many recipes call for be skipped due to this unit's compressor

Question:	I just received mine today and the right side seems to bulge slightly open from the front and rear view. Is this normal
Answer:	I just looked at mine and there is a slight bulge just right of center on the front - hadn't noticed it. Doesn't seem dented or anything - maybe just a little bulge to accommodate the cooling compressor. FYI - I have made almost 50 quarts of ice cream with no problems what-so-ever. You only need to put in about 3 cups of mix as the volume expands as it mixes and freezes. It will NOT freeze solid. When it gets stiff and barely turns, you need to shut it off - scrape the dasher and bannister into another container - I use quart size cardboard containers - and put in your freezer to finish the freezing process.
