Answer:	I be used for 2 years. Filters very well. But does not backwash hardly like sand does. I bought filter socks that you put on skimmer basket and rinse daily. Using these together is better than sand. I do recommend this. I also, at end of summer, remove balls, rinse with water hose, wash in washer and once dry, store for the winter. Before using the filter socks the blls became full of algae. Had to be removed and washed. Once using the filter socks took care of that problem amd pool is great shape. Reduced how much chlorine I needed as well.

Answer:	It is magnetic but it comes out very easily. For this and other reasons, buy something else!
Question:	How do you remove the oil for cleaning? Is there a removable container that holds the oil
Answer:	I wait until unit is cool about 2 hours ,remove the lid which slides right off,and pour into a small coffee can using a strainer until filled. Or I use a small, ceramic cheese container {about 18 ozs.} and leave on my counter. I found the decorative container at a flea market for 50 cents and it works great! Typically, I use my deep fryer about once a week and it is very easy to clean.

Answer:	Personally, I don't understand all the complaints about cleaning this unit. I have a sensitive nose when it comes to rancid oil so I like to refrigerate my oil in between uses and I find this fryer very easy to empty and clean. The top comes off easily up to the halfway open position. The carbon filter cover comes right off the lid and the carbon filter just lifts out. I rinse those top three pieces in hot water and then soak them in hot soapy water for about 10 minutes while the bottom part of the unit is cooling. I wait until the appliance itself is no longer hot to the touch and then pour the oil into an oil keeper with a filter screen (Aulett Home B077D7RDJV) so the oil stays clean. The oil stays in the pour groove on the corner of the deep fryer while pouring into my oil keeper; I have had no problems with drips whatsoever. I then wash my oil keeper screen and store it separately from the oil keeper. If I don't think I'll be using the oil again soon I may then empty the completely cooled oil from the oil keeper into a sealable container like Tupperware or Lock-n-Lock just to make sure I have no spills in the fridge. But the unit is so easy to clean since it is non-stick. I put a little detergent inside the cooker with some hot water and wipe the inside with my soapy dishcloth and then rinse the unit out being careful not to get water on the plug or dial. The unit isn't immersible but, honestly, I'm not so uncoordinated that I can't rinse it without getting the entire outside of the unit wet. (The unit is so small and lightweight so it is easy to handle.) I then wipe the outside with my soapy cloth if any oil has dripped but, like I said, I haven't found drips to be a problem. Then I dry the whole thing to keep it looking new. The entire process takes less than 5 to 10 minutes and is no harder to clean then if I was using a frying pan or dutch oven on the stovetop. To me it is worth it to have deep fried food. I am a scaredy cat when it comes to frying on the stove. This unit takes the fear out of frying for me. And let's face it, there is nothing like french fries fried in a deep fat fryer. I'm looking forward to frying breaded tilapia for fish tacos and tempura sweet potatoes. I'll write a full review after I have fried more than just french fries.

If you are going to fry any type of sea food like fish or shrimp you should change the oil before you use the fryer next time. if you fry other items other than seafood you can leave the oil in the fryer. You should definitely use peanut oil instead of canola oil or any other cooking oil. Peanut oil fry's your food better and it does not leave your food greasy taste. You can reuse you oil 3-4 times before changing the oil and cleaning your fryer. I love my little fryer it works great. I hope this is helpful to you and happy frying. Answer:	Yes it is very easy to clean. The reservoir alone with the heating element lifts out of the unit, that makes it a snape clean.
Question:	The oil filter it self, does it need to be replaced or cleaned
Answer:	The filter is a built in wire mesh type and doesn't need to be replaced as far as I can tell. The only part that may need to be replaced at some point is the rubber seal around it. Hope that helps. I've been using mine for a few months and absolutely love it. The best part of this fryer is the filter system and how you can drain your oil and store it in the plastic container until you need it again. It makes for cleaning and replacing the oil a breeze.
Question:	Can you leave the plastic oil container in while frying
Answer:	Yes - The 'fry" switch keeps the hot oil separated from the plastic oil storage container while frying. Once the oil has cooled, the switch is turned to drain and it flows into the storage container.

Answer:	Big Ron,I've used it 8x already and probably could maybe squeeze a couple more out. But, I think 8-10 is a good estimate depending on the type of foods your cooking. I've used it to cook meat, desserts, ect... in all the same cycle of oil.

Answer:	Using a candy thermometer, mine goes beyond 400 degrees Fahrenheit and when I cook with it, it cooks the outside just fine but the inside stays raw. I was also using breaded chicken that had sat out to room temperature.

Question:	Do you have to tip this over to change oil, or is there a spout that opens somewhere to release the oil
Answer:	There is no convenient spout to drain the oil. In fact you first have to remove the immersion heating assembly by lifting it up and out, then lift out the removable pot containing the oil from the outer housing to be able to pour the oil out.
Question:	Can the fryer be used for doughnuts that need to be fryed in lard
Answer:	I would disagree. I've used solid fats in every deep fryer I've ever owned (both lard and shortening). After they melt, they're synonymous with oil. Cleaning the unit after it has cooled is a different matter, but the solution is simply to pour the liquified fat into a separate container before it solidifies.
Question:	Does this have a lid, (I assume it does but it is not pictured)? Also what kind of lid? Does it have a filter, can you leave it on while cooking

Question:	How hot does the outside of the unit get while in use
Answer:	The outer shell is separate from the inner container that holds the oil. So, there is about a half inch of space separating the inside container from the outer shell. The heating element is immersed in the oil and does not touch the bottom of the unit. The sides get warm to the touch. It is quite safe for a kitchen countertop.

Answer:	To correctly answer the question - no. It requires 120vac @ 60hz. British supply is 230vac @ 50hz. Need to buy version made for the juice where it will be used; this appliance is made to work on a 15amp 120v breaker which is common is US households.

Answer:	There is a magnetic connection between the cord and the fryer. If you attempt to connect the cord upside down, the cord will fall out of the fryer socket. Note which side you are trying to put the plug into the fryer socket, if it falls out turn the plug over and plug in with the opposite side up. Also the cord can't have ANY TENSION on it. The cord needs to be able to be plugged in to the wall socket without any form of pulling on the cord connected to the fryer. If you can't do this then you need a appliance extension cord (a heavy duty since plug extension generally 3ft long with only 1 plug) Don't just buy any cheap extension cord or power strip as they aren't designed to handle the load of the fryer and can overheat and start a fire.
