Answer:	I found when I just use tapwater, that the bottom of the kettle was turning white from calcium deposits. I would suggest that you use either distilled water, or purified water and see if that makes a difference. First of all though you need to clean that black stuff off by boiling some vinegar with a little water in the kettle and then scraping it off with a scrubby.

Question:	where to get extra oil filters for Secura 4.2L/17 cup
Answer:	The fryer does not come with any oil filters. I comes with one set of installed carbon filters and also one extra set so that when you have the lid on, all vapors pass through the carbon and really helps with any smell in the kitchen. I purchased the oil filter that Amazon usually shows that would be a good accessory for the fryer. It does let small particles pass through but so far they have not affected anything. The next time I see a restaurant supply store I think I will check out their filters. The one that Amazon recommends is certainly better than nothing and only costs around $10.

Fill with oil to max fill line, plug it in, turn heat to highest setting, turn timer on, allow to heat up, lower food into oil and put the lid on. Check food every few minutes to see if done.

Question:	How many quarts will be needed to fill
Answer:	No. There must be a magnetic metal in the pan for it to work properly. You can get a metal disc to place between the pan and the induction burner to make it work, but it isn’t as efficient as a magnetic or induction capable pot.

Answer:	I haven't disassembled mine, but the largest set of pan marks on the cooking surface measure 9-3/4" or 24.77 cm diameter.

Answer:	Well, it's hard to quantify, but as with any induction stove, you do hear the fan. I have an induction range as well, and this Max Burton isn't any louder. It's normal. I also have another induction 2 burner portable stove at the office. All induction stoves must have a fan inside. And the greater the wattage, I would assume the more powerful fan will be needed and the louder it will be.

Answer:	Each time you change temp settings; up or down; or press the lock button it beeps to remind you; so you will check the status of your readings! I don't have a problem with the beeper! I haven't read how to turn it off, or if it gives instructions; since it is a safety reminder.

Its sleek, black bucket shape matches form to function-- simple and classic.

The GranPappy holds up to six cups of oil or three pounds of shortening, and it can accommodate up to six servings of food at a time. The internal thermostat keeps the oil at the optimum frying temperature. An accompanying scoop, slotted for draining, is for lifting food in and out or for turning food halfway through the cooking time. The power cord has a magnetic safety connection, so that if the unit is jostled during cooking, the cord will disconnect, shutting power off immediately. After straining the used oil, it can be poured back into the unit and stored, covered by the accompanying snap-on plastic lid.

After frying, unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before attempting to empty oil. Wash the GranPappy with warm, sudsy water and dry it thoroughly; it is not immersible. Answer:	When the unit is heating up it is too hot to touch, but that's completely understandable since it works so well. I heat it up, use it, then let it cool down before putting the top cover on before I put it away for storage. Again, this is the best kitchen appliance I have ever used!
Question:	How much bigger is it than the Daddy presto
Answer:	It is significantly bigger! I own both and usually use the GranPappy unless cooking for just myself. I fry a lot of fish and it is much quicker to fry up a batch using the GanPappy. It does not take that much more oil (20%)...

Answer:	The tank, and the basket seem to do well in the dishwasher. I have not placed the lid in the dishwasher because it seems to do well with just wiping with warm soapy water. DO not use the lid during cooking! This is a deep fryer and any use of a lid may introduce water from steam to the oil causing a boil over of oil.

Answer:	5000 watts = 41.6 amps. Since there are two separate heating elements, that would be 20.8 amps per side. Most home outlets are rated at 15 amps and a dedicated microwave outlet is 20 amps. Something has to give here. If you plugged it in to an ordinary outlet, it should trip the breaker every time. That is unless this unit is not really 5000 watts. Simple mathematics.

Answer:	It can fry quite a bit at once but you won't be able to fry 4lbs of chicken and 1lb of potatoes at once, but it holds a lot. I've cooked chicken breasts in it and depending on size you can get 4-6 in at once in the big frying basket. 1 lb of potatoes would go in the big basket just fine though.
