Answer:	Two parts to this answer... First, yes it retains it's settings if the power is off or it's unplugged. Second, I powered on my lamp then unplugged the unit from the wall. Upon plugging it back in after a couple seconds it turned itself back on (the last state it was in) and within a few more seconds re-connected to my wifi network.Hope this answers peoples questions about power outages and operation...

Answer:	That was probably my review. The hottest position is definitely at 11:00 for this switch. Unfortunately, this information isn't present on any of the product descriptions, so I don't know which switch I really should buy for my old Whirlpool Continuous Cleaning early 70's oven range which has the hottest part at 1:00. The switch does work for my 6" burner, it is just that it works backwards from the other three burners, and I put some labels on the dial so I could remember that this burner works backwards.If you find out which infinite switch on Amazon has the hottest point at 1:00 please let me know and I can change mine to the proper direction.
