The compound is an anti-microbial chemical that is approved for cleaning food processing equipment. But it has not been approved in the U.S. as a processing aid in the production of rawhide chews for dogs. So when cleaning equipment may have some of chimecal left and gets into dog treat or food. |

If you don't like highly-seasoned foods, then make sure you buy good quality salmon, and you can just season it with some salt and a thin layer of oil, then adding some fresh lemon juice before serving. If you want to skip the oil too, then you need the part of the salmon that has more fat)2. Heat the pan until very very very hot, you don't need to put oil into the pan.3. Use medium high heat. Put the fish with the side you want to present on the plate DOWN. Seal for 2-4 mins depending on the thickness of your salmon.4. Flip the fish when you see the meat is almost half way cooked (you will notice the cooked part has a slightly different color)5. Turn OFF the heat or turn the heat down to low, because the heat from the pan will cook the meat for you and this process will prevent from over-cooking your fish.6. Cook for about 2 to 3 mins or until you see the color of the fish meat is slightly pinkish and when you press the fish with your finger the meat will not bounce back.7. After some time, however, my cast iron gets buildup on the sides - I put the pans in the self-cleaning oven and they come out like new. They do have to be re-seasoned but that doesn't take much effort. I'm sure it would work fine on this ridged pan that is sure to be more difficult to clean. |

Answer: | Much better. I have this Lodge and the LC enamel version. Trust me on this - never buy this style pan with enamel coating. Grill type pans are more difficult to clean because of the ridges, nooks & crannies. Because cast iron seasons better and becomes more non-stick than enamel, it is MUCH easier to clean with use. My LC is in the garage awaiting disposal. I love LC, but their grill pans should be avoided. |

Don't quote me on those percentages though, I'm not a lawyer, it's just an example. Where a product is made is not MY number one concern, I put trust in the company and value of the product above country of origin. In the past, I've bought US made products online from no-name companies that turned out to be complete crap. On the other hand, 100% of Apple's products are made 100% in China, yet Apple remains one of America's top brands. Answer: | These little treats are amazing! We have 6 dogs at our home of different sizes and breeds, and they ALL love them. My Dad's Bichon has had all of his teeth pulled except for the 2 fangs so I have to soak his kibble before feeding him. However, he has NO trouble with these treats. They are pretty soft, but not so soft to fall apart. There is no mess or crumbs. I am currently using them to house train my chihuahua puppy. Every time he goes potty outside I give him a treat and praise him. He is getting the hang of it after only a few days. I think if it wasn't so cold outside he would be 100% trained. I highly recommend this product and will always keep a supply on hand. I chose the the rabbit meat for something different, and they've been such a big hit we haven't tried any other flavors. |

Answer: | Our 95# Pyr was mixed on the Juke's minis. They are so small that they could be hard to pick up (she is very delicate), sometimes were not swallowed, and could fall out while she collected enough to bother with. Sometimes she did not realize they were still in her mouth and would be panting with a couple of treats stuck to her tongue. They did work for training, although she lost interest in them faster than some other treats... But this is a Pyr, and she has her own priorities - she has walked away from a hand full of bacon to conduct a routine coop inspection and perimeter sweep. We learned to use the Zuke's at the beginning of a training session and switch to higher value treats as part of keeping her engaged for a full session. Once she learned how that worked, we used them as part of a series leading to higher value treats so that she would anticipate the larger treat. This reduced the cost and calories of training only with larger treats during her early, more intensive training. They usually work well with small to large breeds. XL breeds may be iffy, but you can probably find a way to use them. A visiting 50# pit loved the Zuke's so much that we sent her home with what we had left! |

Answer: | Hi tellfile and everyone else concerned about "non-stick" coatings (aka Teflon). To answer your question about the safety of Teflon, the answer is that Teflon is safe to use WITH MANY CAVEATS (do not exceed temperatures of 500 maybe as low as 325, do not chip the teflon, do not inhale the fumes produced, do not wash wish any abrasive cleaning products, and the list goes on). To answer Michael R's assertion that, "Short answer : it's safe", I will quote directly from the article he linked to :"Just how safe are nonstick pots and pans? The answer is a qualified one...They're safe, as long as they're not overheated. When they are, the coating may begin to break down (at the molecular level, so you wouldn't necessarily see it), and toxic particles and gases, some of them carcinogenic, can be released." |
