Question:	Is the back of this unit smooth and able to sit flush against the wall or are coils, etc. exposed? How frequently does the unit have to be defrosted
Answer:	I don't know for certain on this model, but on other cordless Makita jigsaws, you simply scroll the power setting to the top value, turn on the saw (unlock), scroll to the bottom value, then back to the top. The light should blink twice. However, I can't test this on the XVJ01Z since I ended up returning it after it locked up and wouldn't start anymore.

Answer:	Yes. The xvj02z has dual illumination LEDs instead of just one, higher strokes per minute at 3500 (vs 2600). The xvj02z also has a nice speed limiting control dial and built-in dust blower to keep the cut line visible. I also compared between these two saws and went with the brushless version because of the higher SPM, additional useful features, longer run time per battery, and no brushes to wear out and replace.
