Answer:	The previous answer is NOT CORRECT. This blender container is not built to blend dry grains, they do make a separate stainless steel container meant for dry grains. Saying the standard container can be used for dry grains is like saying any $30-$50 blender can be used for grains or nuts. It just fails to mention that after "it is used in this way" it may break the plastic container. Don't recommend on this model without separate container.

Answer:	VITAMIX Containers should never be stored in the refrigerator. The lubrication in the bearings will dry out and the blade will seize prematurely. To extend the life of the bearings never put the container in the refrigerator or the freezer and do not get the bottom of the container wet.

Answer:	That 20.5" must be the box. The height of the Ascent series blenders is 17 inches (base and container). It just slides under my 17.25" cabinets.

Answer:	It's built specifically to fit the Vitamix container. The measurements on my are: Width at opening in lid of container 1.75 inches and depth below stop on tamper is 6.75 inches. If this fits into the opening of your container and does not reach the blades with this length, then it may work for you.
