Answer:	its' not recommended for herbs/spices but as long as they are fully dry and not oily (i.e. no rosemary) it will work. But if you primary want to grind herbs/spices I'd recommend use an actual spice grinder or a cheap coffee grinder. this grain mill is way overkill for that.

Answer:	I use my food processor to make almond or other nut butters. I toast the nuts then grind them in the food processor adding just a small amount of almond or walnut oil at the end to get the right consistency. It's much better than the "fresh-ground" at stores, because they use low grade/older nut stock, so it's not usually fresh tasting at all. Good luck!

Answer:	Yes, I used to successfully use the mill for grinding malt when I was home brewing. Cracked many 50 pound bags of malt over the years. You do not want to set it to too fine a grind, just set it so the malt is barely cracked.

Answer:	Not the unit I bought - mine is 110V, 60 HZ (US version). Since Krups is a German manufacturer, I feel fairly sure that it would be available in a 220V, 50HZ version.

Answer:	This grinder has one speed and has no settings for coarse or fine etc. You control how fine something is ground by varying the grind time... or by pulsing the button manually. It's a good sturdy grinder and would likely grind up any spices that you might want to put in it though.

Answer:	Yes the top clear lid is the cup. When I am done grinding I unplug the device with the cup still attached turning it upside down and tap a couple of times to release all the spices, herbs etc. I use mine for flaxseed mostly and then I pour from the cup to another container.. No mess!

I have changed my burr plates twice in the 12 years I've had my grinder. The part number for the burrs is : 111823913639

Answer:	This is my second identical grinder, the first lasted 17 years. I only use imported expresso beans, very oily. I have never had an issue. I clean with the included tool at least once a month. Never water.

Answer:	1 Both are made of glass. Its highly nonreactive & free if static electricity. 2 plain old coffee is Maxwell House. You don't have to grind it. 3. If you want to control the quality of the cup you must control the coarseness of the grind. I haven't found a better grinder for the purpose than this one. I use a Clever Dropper and want a grind almost as coarse as French Press. I can also grind for my espresso machine, and for my Aeropress. If you use grocery store beans, use the store grinder and grind it to whatever your requirements are - you don't need this.

Question:	Can thus be used to make applesauce
Answer:	Yes! It makes a wonderfully smooth applesauce. I wish I had gotten mine sooner. Wash, quarter and cook your apples first. Then put them through the top. It is so much easier than the old fashion hand cranked mill.
Question:	Can I use this for crushing grapes for home producing wine
Answer:	The users guide states it is not made for juicing grapes, or uncooked vegetables or fruits. That being said, If you cut up or mash the grapes first, It works fine. It is a more of a fruit/veggie saucer that removes seeds, peelings, etc. You do not get just juice, but depending on the type of a grape, more like a thin to thick sauce. You just need to strain it to get the juice out. Grape skins do break easily in this since there is nothing to cut them. If you cut them open they will juice just fine. I usually run my fruit through twice if the pulp (seeds and skins) are still very wet when they come out. The left over pulp is very dry after the second time. You may have to clean out the screen several times since the skins of some like to stick to the inside too. If you are making a large batch of juice, or don't have time to cut grapes and stop and clean the screen, I would suggest using a juicer made for grapes. You can also stomp or mash the grapes first, then you would have more of a mash that should work just fine. If you soften the fruit and skins by steaming or slightly cooking them, they work better too. Any fruit or vegetable that is not soft does not easily juice. I cut apples in 1/4s and steam them in a little bit of water till they are softer before saucing them for applesauce or apple juice. So, for a small amount of grapes, you are OK, for a large quantity, it would be a slow process.
Question:	Would this be good for straining seeds out of berries to make blackberry/raspberry jam? Last yr I removed the seeds by hand & that was for the birds
Answer:	did not work with the large blackberries that typically come from thornless varieties. The berries get stuck at the tip. (I also used it on wild blackberries with smaller seeds and it worked fine for that)

Answer:	The set includes both the strainer and the grinder. There are 9 individual pieces to this set. Amazon offers the same set that the KitchenAid site offers, but currently Amazon has a little better price than is offered at the KitchenAid site.

Answer:	It will cut your shaft but you may burn threw one or two disks to do it. a chop saw with a 12" to 14 " blade would be better if you are cutting a lot of hard shafts.

Answer:	Yes, this can cut galvanized steel. One thing to be careful of is the gases release by the zinc is *really* bad for you, so make sure you have GOOD ventilation and a mask so you are not breathing in the fumes.

Answer:	The kitchenaid brand spiralizer attachment is needed to spiralize your produce. I bought the 7 blade Kitchenaid spiralizer set. I use the large spiralizing blade to make zucchini noodles. Zoodles. It is the BEST tool on the market for Zoodles. Shop prices. Amazon has not had the best price. I shopped here first. But, found it for $55 less elsewhere. I plan to buy a second one to have an extra set of blades. I can see myself wearing the spiralizer out.

Question:	My ceramic tub seems to jostle around and move a decent amount when placed in the warmer. Is that normal
Answer:	Hi, this is VitaClay, the manufacturer. Our clay pots do not retain flavors or odors after cooking, and we regularly make lots of different things in the same clay pot, including strong meals like lamb stew, followed by yogurt or white rice (after washing, of course), and there is absolutely no flavor transfer. Our high-temperature water-glazing process, using only water and 2500+ degree heat, seals the clay against any type of food/flavor/scent transfer, and also strengthens the clay a great deal to prevent breakage.
Question:	where is it made
Answer:	Well mine has a hairline crack too. I added more tap water to an already hot pot and it cracked halfway across the bottom. Yes they have replacement pots, but you have to buy the lid too. The replacements only come in sets. Depending on how long you have had the pot will depend on the price. They will give a certain percentage off depending on how many months you had the pot before it got damaged. My quote was $20.00 pot + $20.00 shipping. They also want a picture of your cracked pot. If you are extremely careful with this pot it makes great food, but the clay is delicate. Mine sits in my closet still cracked :( I just use other healthy cookware on the stovetop for now.

Answer:	This VitaClay has 3 temperature settings, Yogurt, Low and High. The yogurt setting maintains a temperature of about 110- 115 degrees. Question:	is this slow cooker insert lead free
Answer:	I have a multi-cooker (vm7900-6) and I've been using it about 7-8 years. I love it. Everything tastes better when make it in this thing, and everything is easy to make. You can make anything in here: yogurt, stew, soup, broth, rice, quinoa, steel cut oats, steam anything, heat anything up.... pretty much all-inclusive except for baking. The thing I like about the multi-cooker (oval model) is that it's got the yogurt maker, and yogurt made in clay is really like no other yogurt, plus you can make it for pennies on the dollar rather than buying it in the store. I also like the delay timer on it, when i cook steel cut oats I set it to start cooking about an hour before I wake up and it's hot and ready when I wake up! Otherwise you have to wait like an hour for those things to be fully cooked. I also like the "reheat" feature, which I don't think the other one has. Just pop in some soup or something you want to steam, press "reheat," and it's ready 5-10 minutes later. I don't use a microwave so this feature is handy for me.

Its great for small quantities like making some burger for the week or something similar What you need would be a more industrial unit. Grind 1 pound of beef

2 egg yolks

1⁄3 cup dry bread crumbs

1⁄3 cup Parmesan cheese

2 tablespoons chopped parsley

3⁄4 teaspoon garlic salt

1⁄2 teaspoon oregano / 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper

2 tablespoons chopped stuffed olives / 1⁄4 cup olive oil

Steps

Place ground beef, egg yolks, bread crumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, garlic salt, oregano, pepper, and olives in mixer bowl. Attach bowl and flat beater to mixer.

Turn to Speed 2 and mix for 1 minute. Form mixture into 30 (1-inch) balls and fry in olive oil until well browned. Drain on paper towels. Warm Tangy Barbecue Sauce and pour over meatballs. Serve warm from chafing dish.

Question:	Is it compatible with kitchenaid artisan ksm150psqg
Answer:	It should attach to any kitchenaid stand mixer. Love this item....have used it several times since my kids gave it to me for my birthday just a few weeks ago. Save the box as it is meant to be stored in it. Anyone who does baking that requires a lot of sifting will find it is a dream attachment!
Question:	I am concerned with over mixing delicate cakes while this sifts. Can you stop the paddle mixer, sift it all into the bowl, then resume mixing
Answer:	I took a deep dive on how well it sifts. Basically the answer is don't sift things with thick grains. It sifted flour like a champ at the lowest setting, powdered sugar just as well. the flower needs to fall in the reservoir before it will start sifting so when you open the sifting gate you probably need to jab the flower to collapse it's form. Stop the sifter before you get all you want because it will keep going for about 1/4 of a cup to empty the reservoir. At the lowest setting on the mixer it sifts great, this makes it ideal for gradually adding flower for breads, it maybe extended my mixing about 30 seconds due simply to its small surface area. It's fine however, it does not work well with the splash guard so keep that in mind. Is this a needed tool? Nah, it's for the cool factor.
