It's a good basic timer, I like it - and when you're not using it as a timer, it doubles as a clock (time of day) if that's of any interest.

Answer:	.....responding to the comment down below....the reason it doesn't ring if you set it less than ten minutes is that it isn't 'wound up' enough.....to set it for a small amount of time you just have to wind it past ten minutes first and then just wind it back to whatever amount of time you want. A lot of wind-up timers are like this. Since it doesn't use batteries, the 'power' comes from winding. i.e. turn the dial to 30 or 40 minutes and then just turn it down to the 3 or 4 minutes or whatever that you actually want. :)
