Question:	How wide is the pot
Answer:	You can go to the Beurer website. When I checked the other day they said out of stock til sometime in April (I don't remember the exact date they mentioned.) I couldn't find any other place. I reuse the ones I have, keeping each person's cap in an individual ziplok bag with their name on it. If somebody has an ear infection, then do not reuse! The Braun caps that are promoted with the Buerer do not work for me, not accurate (yes I compared results with each brand) and they don't stay on.

This thermometer is calibrated and adjusted at the factory, If you wish to check the calibration:

1. Bring a clean container of water to a boil.
2.  Dip thermometer probe it in the water with the pliers, leave immersed for at least one minute taking care not to let the probe rest on or make contact with the container.
3. Our gage should move up to 212 if it is calibrated properly

Tips for adjusting the calibration after six months
