Question:	Can this thermometer get the temperature in a dryer
Answer:	I doubt it. The wavelength of the sensor is 8-14 microns and plexiglass has very low transmittance beyond about 3 microns (according to this spec sheet http://www.plexiglas.com/export/sites/plexiglas/.content/medias/downloads/sheet-docs/plexiglas-general-information-and-physical-properties.pdf). Whether or not the material your dryer door is made of is the same is another matter. If the transmittance is close to zero then you will essentially be measuring the temperature of the outside of the door.
Question:	Does this work on internal meat temperatures
Answer:	If you cut the meat in half you might be able to take the surface temperature of the meat, but then your meat is going to be cut in half and that's not real appetizing. Blue cheese is very appealing, maybe some bacon.

Answer:	If your child can open their mouth and hold it open for a few seconds, then YES! It is an extremely accurate way to measure temperature! Just point the dot at the back of the throat, and it gives you an immediate and accurate reading. I'm at a loss why people only considered pointing it at their foreheads or other external body parts.

Answer:	The 12:1 ratio means at 12" the gun is accurate for a one inch spot. So at 6'-8' it will be accurate for a 6"-8" inch spot. So the farther you get away from the spot being measured, the less accurate it will be. Like Cheryl said, think of it like a cone.

Answer:	You must have a surface that you are pointing the device at. In other words it is not going to measure the air temp in the oven. If you have a baking steel or Pizza stone this would be perfect to measure the surface temperature. If you want to get the temperature of the grate, that works too. I hope this was helpful.

Answer:	Please double check the range. Theoretically, it is infinite; realistically, it is not. Manufacturers website states that for best accuracy, the distance from heat source should be 14.17 inches. All the laser is for is to approximate the area measured. IR sensors actually pick up the waves from that area, which in this case is 2cm (~1") below the laser dot. Please see www(dot)etekcity(dot)com for more descriptive detail.
Question:	How easy is it to change from C to F
Answer:	I have not but I see no reason it wouldn't work for some culinary purposes as it is surely more accurate than most oven and burner controls. I did test mine by pointing it at a pan of boiling water and it was spot on 212 degrees. I also calibrated it with melting ice which showed 32 degrees and suggest you perform the same tests. However, many recommended cooking temperatures are given as internal temperatures such as for meat and fish and this device would only read the surface temperature. That might read higher than the internals so I'd avoid using it in that manner.

Baby Thermometers measures the human body or an object temperature based on the infrared energy emitted by the forehead or an object (such as milk and water). You can quickly get accurate measurement results after pointing the temperature probe to the target. The measuring range of the thermometer in forehead mode is between 32. 0°F - 212. 0°F (0 °C- 100 °C) . The product consists of ABS plastics, temperature sensor, Infrared temperature measuring element, microcomputer controlled circuit, LCD , backlight and buzzer. Answer:	It's 20:1. If the picture is showing 12:1, then they're showing the IR-712 by mistake.
