Question:	Can this be used as a candy thermometer
Answer:	No, I don't think you can mount this through the dash. The plate it is attached to has four feet and protrudes outwards in front past the base of the unit. You would have to mount it on the dash or upside down under the dash with the knob extending. I can tell you it is an excellent volume control. Very well made. Maybe the mounting plate is removable so you can mount it through the dash but I don't recall. I seem to remember that the base is integral to the unit but I could be mistaken. You could always get "creative" and saw or cut off the front feet so the unit would fit flush with the back of the dash. It looks like it does have a nut under the knob.

Answer:	Yes. Just put it before the speakers, after the preamp circuit.
Question:	Is this waterproof? You can see the circuit board when you tilt the lcd screen. Water can go in there
Answer:	Probably, if the input to the speakers is low level RCA patch cord and the amplifier is internal to the speakers. Not sure about the streamer.

Answer:	It is molded plastic and there would be very little room inside. It would be easier to add cables with phono jacks & plugs to a step attenuator. As it is, it does a fine job of reducing signal level to the amplifier input.

Answer:	Yes!!! M.O.L.L.E is cross compatible with all attachment systems whether it's P.A.L.S. webbing gear or a 2" (minimum) duty / pistol belt... You do not need P.A.L.S. webbing to utilize the M.O.L.L.E. straps. Here is what steps you do with this pouch on a 2" security duty belt like with the Russian SMERSH (A.L.I.C E. & P.A.L.S / M.O.L.L.E Hybrid) load - bearing rig... Note: You can attach this M.O.L.L.E. pouch either to the P.A.L.S. webbing located on the padddd war / battle belt that the duty belt slips through, but I am just going to give steps for attaching this pouch to the duty belt portion that the original pouches are attached to and you obviously want to remove and swap out. #1) Take the M.O.L.L.E. straps on back of this pouch and slide them behind / under the duty belt and pull down until the duty belt reaches the top stitching seams of the straps. #2) Located on back of this pouch you will notice 1x3=3 rows of P.A.L.S. webbing... Locate the webbing row residing directly under {note: most likely will be the 2nd webbing row of back pouch for a 2" duty belt like the SMERSH rig uses!} the bottom of the duty belt and loop / weave the straps under the inside of that webbing row on back of pouch and then fold the flap/ tip portion of the strap over the bottom row and tuck it into the inside of the bottom row of webbing (as seen in the 4th product pic). That is all you do... Easy... Most people do not properly attach M.O.L.L.E. pouches like they're supposed to do by weaving them onto the P.A.L S. or belts, and instead use speed clips (or other clip mechanism) or just attach the straps of pouch straight down through the webbing and snap them shut etc... Then they complain when there pouch sloshes around, hangs forward down, becomes unstable, or comes undone and falls off altogether etc. But anyways, the answer is, "Yes!, This is compatible with the SMERSH and you can sttach this pouch onto either the duty belt portion or the webbing on the padded war belt portion!" However, why would you want to spend the extra money on this pouch when the SMERSH comes loaded with all the complete setup of SVD and or AK pouches (depending which one you want)... Granted there is only green color option available for the rig, so if you want black pouches for a makeshift camo blend using green and black gear together than that is cool and understandable... One final thing, an idea for thought from my creative concept point as I do it all the time with all types of my rigs... If you get the SMERSH rig and want these black M.O.L.L.E. SVD pouches to replace the stock green, then I would suggest buying some metal or plastic D - ring buckles also as to slide the straps of pouch through the D - ring before you secure pouch onto duty belt... That way you have added attachment points for the web straps and hook clips of the SMERSH rig to hold and clip onto for better load balancing, equal / even weight distribution, reduction of gear shifting, less stress on the gear etc - etc - etc... You can also create more additional web straps (with or without hook clips) and attach them to the D - rings added onto the back straps of pouch, and then attach the other end of webbing to various points on the suspender harness for to pouch support of which will greatly reduce fatigue on the stitching of weighted pouch when mobile... Just an idea.

Answer:	Thank you for your question. Yes, This Food Thermometer range from -58℉ to 572℉(-50℃to 300℃) is perfect for grilling on your gas barbecue or turkey fryer, making candy, using hot oil to deep fry, brewing beer, wine and even making cheese or bread. Anything, please let us know.
Question:	Can it be used in candy making
Answer:	It doesn't say so in the description but it reads up to 302 degrees F. Not sure why it couldn't be used. I'm going to try it within the next 2 weeks when I make carmels. They are only 240 degrees.
Question:	Does this device come with a calibration certificate
Answer:	I have the version of this thermometer from several years ago, and I tested it out today to see if it would turn off automatically. I turned it on, and left it on for about 10 minutes. It never did shut off automatically during that time. I ended up turning it off, so as to not waste the battery.
Question:	Can it be used in candy making
Answer:	It's not even water resistant. Label specifically states to hand wash and not to submerge. Submerging is dunking it into a vessel (bowl, glass, sink) of water; submerging is NOT running water over it as any "washing by hand" is done. Simply running water over it - the only way to truly clean anything - results in water getting inside the unit in seconds. Clearly this is a design flaw...or my unit is defective. I have written Oxo to find out.

Do not open and close probe in water. - Do not completely immerse in water. - Thermometer can withstand flow from your faucet. - To prevent cross-contamination, always wipe the probe clean between readings. This is especially important when using with different meats. - Store thermometer with probe in closed position.

Replacing Battery

To replace the pre-installed CR2032 battery, pop off the battery cover. Align a coin in the slot and twist the cover counter clockwise until the battery is accessible. Remove the battery and replace it with a new CR2032 battery, with positive upright. Twist battery compartment back into place until it is tightly sealed and replace cover
