Answer:	I don't know about an oven but I used it in a smoker that runs at 250 degrees.

Answer:	Yes, this one is sturdy and the clip works well. As I mentioned in the review, the bulb is up about 1/2" above the bottom so you need to use a pan that will haveat least that depth of liquid in it in order to get a good reading.
Question:	Will this work on ANY TYPE OF SAUCEPAN ?? Will it fit WOKS while deep-frying? I mean high-sided, straight-sided, pot-shaped pots etc
Answer:	The clip is adjustable - it slides up and down according to how deep you need it and it will expand to fit over the side of any pot. I use it on a large thick glass measuring cup when I'm making yogurt and it stays put perfectly. I haven't tried it on a slant sided wok, but I think that - because of the metal stand on the bottom that protects the bulb - it would still be ok.

Answer:	I use mine for candy making almost daily. The numbers do come off after a while, but I give mine a work out. I am ordering my 3rd one today. But they tend to last me 18 months which is an excellent price for how often I use mine. This last one probably has 900 batches of 300 degree candy under it's belt. And they are always accurate!!

Answer:	I'm not quite sure why I am responding to this question but I am. All I know is that this thing has improved my bread making and pizza making operations with regards to the yeast. Anything else is just clutter.

Answer:	Yes LR44 should work as it is the same as the Vinnie iLL54f listed on mine. I couldn't find either so I bought the Energizer 357. Now lights come on but it only displays Celsius. None of the buttons work and it won't go off. It was a great little thermometer while it worked. Now I've spent more on a battery than I would have to buy a new thermometer.

Question:	What does "immersion" mean on the thermometer

Immersion in context to this thermometer means that the thermometer should be immersed at least 21/2" into the liquid that you are measuring the temperature of but still not touching the thermometer to the bottom of the pan. Question:	does it have mercury or alcohol
Answer:	A red bulb = alcohol. Mercury would be silver.
Question:	Listing says the clip is adjustable, but my clip slides up & down the sides making it impossible to clip onto anything. Any suggestions on repairing
Answer:	I let the thermometer rest on the bottom of the pan. I was worried it might make the temperature incorrect, but it doesn't affect it. It must be made to work this way. I make fudge with it this way. It turns out correctly.

Question:	How do you clean it
Answer:	Run scalding hot water over the probe or wipe the probe with a soapy rag then rinse (probe).
Question:	Can I leave inside grill
Answer:	I wouldn't if the grill is on! There are thermometers for that application where the temp probe is placed in the meat while on the grill and the temperature is read remotely on your phone or a receiver. If you're talking about leaving the instrument in the grill when not in use I personally would not. Not that you couldn't.
Question:	Is it normal to have to calibrate as soon as it arrives? Out of box in boiling water it only read
Answer:	The boiling point of water is 212 F only at sea level. If you are at a higher altitude, the boiling point is lower.
Question:	Is it made in usa
Answer:	Was just about to purchase until I saw "quality is not prolem" and referencing American quality. Both statements are dead give away for being made in China. I may not be able to find a domestically made thermometer but I may be able to find one made in any other country in the world. No more China for me if I can help it.
