Answer:	Not sure what Rich W has done to make his work, but my iphone 11 pro max, running the latest iOS version, disconnects any time the phone goes to sleep. I just purchased mine this past week (10/9/2020). I will be returning it as this 'inconvenience' makes it completely worthless for what I wanted it for (I do 16 hour brisket cooks and often need a middle of the night alert to wrap...if it's not gonna wake me when it hits temp, what's the point?)

Answer:	To set your own temp you must choose CUSTOM temp. I too wish I could set the meat temps instead of the USDA recommendation of burn till tough. All germs die at 157 degrees. So if the temp of (all) your meat goes to at least 157 then you are safe.
