Answer:	Highest: 400 F (210 C) Lowest: 90 F (50 C)
Question:	bought a wilton thermometer & it is thin metal and feels cheap and the clip doesn't stay on. Is this thermometer made of thick substantial metal
Answer:	Yes, this one is sturdy and the clip works well. As I mentioned in the review, the bulb is up about 1/2" above the bottom so you need to use a pan that will haveat least that depth of liquid in it in order to get a good reading.
Question:	Will this work on ANY TYPE OF SAUCEPAN ?? Will it fit WOKS while deep-frying? I mean high-sided, straight-sided, pot-shaped pots etc
Answer:	The clip is adjustable - it slides up and down according to how deep you need it and it will expand to fit over the side of any pot. I use it on a large thick glass measuring cup when I'm making yogurt and it stays put perfectly. I haven't tried it on a slant sided wok, but I think that - because of the metal stand on the bottom that protects the bulb - it would still be ok.
Question:	Does anyone know if the numbers fade fast or do they last through candy making and washes
Answer:	I use mine for candy making almost daily. The numbers do come off after a while, but I give mine a work out. I am ordering my 3rd one today. But they tend to last me 18 months which is an excellent price for how often I use mine. This last one probably has 900 batches of 300 degree candy under it's belt. And they are always accurate!!

Question:	The title said candy/deep fry and i accidentally ordered the one that only said candy but was double the price, can i still use it for deep fry
Answer:	I only use it for making candy
Question:	How long is the probe
Answer:	It is pretty long, about 12". I don't use it frankly. It works well for some things, but I bought it for making candy. The clip is decent, better than some, but the digital readout is very difficult to read when it registers above 230 degrees F.
Question:	Will the alarm sound when it cools to a certain temperature, or just when it heats to a certain temperature
Answer:	It beeps when it is within 3 degrees Fahrenheit of the desired temp, beeps a different tone when it hits that to and a few degrees over and a third time when it's over that up to about 10 degrees over the desired temp. It will repeat those tones on the way back down as it cools. (Did a simple test boiling water and cooling back down after turning off the heat.)
Question:	Does this thermometer work in an antigravity environment
Answer:	Since antigravity is an environment free from the force of gravity, there is no reliable way to test the functionality of this thermometer in such an environment, primarily because antigravity does not yet exist. Answer:	A red bulb = alcohol. Mercury would be silver.
Question:	Listing says the clip is adjustable, but my clip slides up & down the sides making it impossible to clip onto anything. Any suggestions on repairing
Answer:	I let the thermometer rest on the bottom of the pan. I was worried it might make the temperature incorrect, but it doesn't affect it. It must be made to work this way. I make fudge with it this way. It turns out correctly.

Answer:	You can swing the probe around and use the thermometer as a kind of kick stand on the stove. It will require a very short pot. But it worked well doing it this way

Please take a cup of ice-water from the fridge. Insert the probe into ice-water to touch the ice. (make sure the probe touch the ice under water) When get the final temperature, hold down the HOLD key for 5 seconds. The display will flash "CAL " on the screen then flash the digit. Next, use the ON key to increase the digit or the HOLD key to decrease the digit until you reach 0 ℃ or 32 ℉. After several seconds the screen shows "PASS". The calibration done.

If you want to replace the battery, you can remove the screws on the back and open the battery cover to replace the battery: There is a small hole in the back cover of the product. Insert a steel needle less than 2mm into the small hole and press it. Then use a Phillips screwdriver to open the battery back cover.
