Answer:	I'm not 100% sure but stainless steel is usually fine in the dishwasher. Aluminum and tin are not ok in the dishwasher.

Answer:	Hello - If you are using the containers for spices, they hold the 'standard size' container from most mega-mart grocery stores. If you are making your own spice blend, they hold approximately 4 ounces / a half cup quantity. However, if you are using them for small part tools or crafting supplies, the magnets are a light to light-medium strength. I have not tested them to hold heavy items such as nuts and bolts. I use these for spices with the magnetic board. It is a great space saver and a 'go to' for being organized. I love them, and currently have 36 tins and hoping to expand, in the kitchen, and beyond (study, and garage one day). Best of luck.

Question:	I received a set as a gift and was wondering if there was plastic to be removed from the lids on both sides (inside and outside
Answer:	Yes, there is a plastic film that needs to be removed from the inside of the lid. You should be able to pull it (start at any curved point) and be able to remove the entire film easily. Once this is removed, do a good cleaning of the curved area of the inner lid. The containers I received were very dirty. There seems to be a plastic film on the outside, but it is so tightly on that I wasn't sure if it should be removed. It IS on the outside so leaving it on wouldn't affect the use of the containers so I left it on. A note by the manufacturer to indicate if it should or should not be removed would have been nice.

Question:	Is there a film on the clear plastic on the lid that needs to be removed ? If so is it on the inside or outside
Answer:	It’s on the outside. Easily removed.
Question:	I can no longer open some of my tins. Any advice on how to open
Answer:	I’m not sure. The problem I had when I received them was that there were very sharp edges that were not sanded down. Cut my hand on it.
Question:	Is there a magnet glued onto the bottom of each canister or is the entire canister bottom a magnetic material
Answer:	The entire bottom is one large magnet glued to the bottom of the canister.

Answer:	I think they are about two ounces. They hold a standard McCormicks or Schillings bottle of spices with a bit to spare.

Answer:	I used mine for candles, I won’t again because they get to hot. But I will buy another pack for my body butters. It’s hard to prevent leaks when using oils and any container. I think you’re good to go with a disclaimer regarding temperature and keeping the container upright.

Answer:	Thanks for your question. Everything is assembled in our Maine studio. The materials are sourced domestically and internationally. Specifically, magnetic cover components are made in Connecticut, lids are made in Pennsylvania and the tempered glass jars are made (custom for us) in a factory in China (under direct supervision—it's a factory that makes food-grade canning supplies. We would love to source the jars domestically, to have our products completely made here. However, no glass factories in the US are willing to work with a company as small as ours. Maybe some day! Answer:	Hi Josh, This is Beth, from Gneiss Spice! Those customer photos are from an old product-and amazon would not remove them for us. (Against policy I guess?) Thanks for asking, as I'm sure others are wondering the same thing. Inside each lid is a stainless steel, certified food-safe barrier that separates the magnets and the spices (that's the "larger magnet" you are mentioning, but it's not actually a magnet). The magnets are housed underneath this "magnet cap" and the whole piece attaches to the inside of the lid. No adhesive is used as all three components are held together by the force of the magnet that is sandwiched between them. Hope this helps answer the question. Question:	Can you wash them? or does water get stuck in the lid
Answer:	I've never washed mine because I replace the contents with the same spices, but I imagine that they could be washed by hand and would have to be dried well to avoid rust.
Question:	On a few of my tins the lids will not turn. What can I put on them to make them work
Answer:	These are useless because the lids dont turn effectively. I have tried swapping out lids for bottoms, etc. Very frustrating and inconvenient. I would not buy again.

Answer:	2 inches high, 2.5 inches in diameter and hold 3 ounces. I absolutely love mine!
Question:	do these rust when washed and left to dry
Answer:	Mine haven't. I'm not near the ocean, so I can't comment on what salt air might do to them. I washed and let them air dry before filling them. They didn't rust while air drying.

Answer:	Very clear hard plastic. There is a plastic film on both the inside and outside of the cover that needs to be removed and they come with both pre-printed and blank labels. I LOVE my spice tins! I’m a retired chef and have around 40 in use after downsizing the amount I buy of each spice.
