| Answer: | It goes behind the bit, and extending down into the water reservoir below. It wicks up the water from the water reservoir and carries it against the bit as you grind, so it needs to touch both of them. The glass sludge builds up against the sponge as you work, so you will need to periodically remove the sponge, rinse it out, and then re-insert it. |

| Answer: | In order to have a smooth edge, you need to ensure that you have the appropriate amount of coolant and water in your grinder. You should also apply even pressure when grinding. If it is a soft glass do not apply to much pressure, let the grinder do the work. |

Although the motor shaft is listed as 5/16", which is the most common size, we have frequently had difficulty getting TWOFERS brand grinder bits to fit onto these machines. We often succeed in getting the TWOFERS to fit after "polishing" the motor shaft with a strip of wet sandpaper (emery cloth) and/or "chasing" the hole in the grinder bit with a 5/16" diameter drill bit. |
