Answer:	I believe they are referring to the elastic strap on the inside of the cover. When you open the cover and flip that section behind the pad you can put your hand in the elastic and hold it.

Answer:	Did you solved it? Mine also have it's blue light always on. If you put it on operational position it starts grinding and the lights still on. Positioning it upright and the grinding stops but the lights still on.

Answer:	I believe so. But they are very easy to use. You remove the bottoms to fill. Just about a half turn and they open easily. Batteries are in the top part and that is just a quick twist to open as well. Adjusting the coarseness is done at the very tip by turning clockwise for finer grind

Answer:	Very pleased with these shakers. The top rotates to expose the holes. Small holes, large holes, a pour spout and shut off. You can expose a few holes or many. Turn the lid to seal contents. Good for salt to coarse ground pepper and some smaller sea salts. Holes not large enough for chili flakes however. But you could use the pour spout for larger flaked spices. Best salt and pepper shakers I've ever used. I will be buying more and recommend highly.

Answer:	I wash them by hand and the covers need to set a while to disperse the moisture. I would think they could be put in a dishwasher, the glass part definitely. The top is hard plastic, would think it would be ok in the top of a dishwasher. I love these!
