Answer: The straws are metal but it comes with removable ends of plastic so you do not bite on the straw and it is all so easy to clean and comes with cleaning brushes

Answer: With a great deal of difficulty and the right tools, you probably could bend these straws. But, that would pretty much destroy their intended use. This set comes with Pre-bent as well as straight straws in 2 different sizes. Best set of straws for the price that I have found. Straws to fit my smaller size kids cups to the larger 30 oz. size cups.
