Question:	How often should you change the filters? It takes about a week - or a crisper clean out - to fill the bucket
Answer:	We empty our bucket about once a week; only vegetables - no meats. We've had it since Christmas 2016 and just changed the filter for the first time today. ,That's 14 months! Factors like lots of smelly veges will make it sooner. We've been cooking with a lot of onions lately and I think the onion compost is what put it over the top smell-wise necessitating the change in filters. They will last a long tome as long as you use the two filters together, they are the charcoal-based ones and not some cheap knock-off without charcoal, and you don't wash them. We wash the bucket each time after emptying and superficially wash the lid, but never take the filters out and wash them as it will wash the charcoal out and you'll get smell.

Answer:	We use "BioBag" small 3-gallon food scrap bags -- compostable. 25 for small box. Green color.
Question:	How tall and how wide is it at its base and its handle sides
Answer:	It is 8 1/4 inches tall and 6 inches wide for the crock. Add the lid and the height to the top of the knob is 10". The handle adds just under 1" on each side, so the total width is just slightly less than 8 inches. So overall mine is 8" wide and 10" tall.

Answer:	Michael, the square filter is 6"x6" and goes in the lid first. The round filter has a 7 1/2" diameter and holds the square in the lid without falling out.

Answer:	From the NorPro site: To replace filters: just pull old filters out and toss. Inside replacement packet are two filters: one square filter and one round filter. Insert the square filter first. Just push it into the lid next to the holes in the lid, using your hands. Insert the round filter second. It goes in the other part of the lid and does not touch the other filter. Just work it in with your hands.

Answer:	I don’t have the packaging for this brand. I have another brand and they are made in China (unni brand)

Answer:	I would not recommend dishwasher as the container has 2 layers. Dish soap and water. Very easy cleanup.

Answer:	I have never done that so I am unsure. It's pretty sturdy plastic so maybe it's possible.
Question:	Why does it say "not safe for backyard composting" on the bag, but not in the bag discription
Answer:	The large one is 9 3/4" wide, 7" deep, 8 3/4 tall, 16" with the lid open, this was important to me because my cabinets are 15 1/2 above the counter. So I must pull it in front of the cabinets to open all the way. It seems worth it because I had to empty the small one every day and the removable rim holds the bag in place. It does such a good job of holding the bad smells in that I don't mind letting it fill up for 2 or 3 days. The small one is 7" wide 7" deep7 1/2 if you count the tab in front, 7" tall, 14 1/2 with the lid open. They both taper so they are a little smaller at the bottom.

Answer:	I'm not sure of the dimensions of the bio bag so I can't tell you if it would stick out. I don't think it's necessary to have a bag inside. This container is amazing. It holds a lot and contains the odor! Good luck with your decision.

Answer:	actually it is 1.25 gallons - 5 quarts!

Answer:	No fingerprints are visible. But beware of fruit flies. Even with the charcoal filter, those tiny buggers will be a problem. Even in the dead of winter.

Question:	Can these be used to replace hefty scrap bags? is the size comparable
Answer:	The Norpro bags are bigger, but they taper down at the bottom so they will not stand on its own. They are a round bag made to fit in a round container. I think the Norpro bags are thinner than the Hefty bags, but I can't find anything on the thickness of the Hefty bags to be sure.

Answer:	I really do not know. Some type of plastic. Have used for the kitchen compost for a number of years and are very pleased.
Question:	How do you recycle a bag after you use it to pick up your dog poop as recommended
Answer:	Did you read the product description? It says, to throw the bag in your weekly trash, it will eventually break down at the dump. I wouldn’t recommend trying to reuse it after picking up dog poop!!
