Answer:	I don't believe the blade can be set t peel something that thick. You set the potato into the frame and the blade glides along and scrapes the peel off.

I just swish the razor in the rubbing alcohol, and that instantly evaporates when you’re done. So the blade never has a chance to rust.” I don't see why this won't work for this peeler too.

Answer:	This is the best peeler I've ever owned. I don't know if it will peel the tough skin of a raw butternut squash but I'll bet it will! I just tried it on a big raw pumpkin and it peeled the skin off just fine.

Answer:	I actually have both. This peeler is sharper for one thing. While the peels still seem to stick to the top of the peeler (one of my pet peeves), there is less of that than with the regular OXO peeler. The main difference is the sharpness.

Answer:	It depends entirely on your soil health and composition. As an organic farmer, I would hand sprinkle a small amount around transplants when they were put in the field. A month to 6 weeks later for herbs and leafy plants, and at fruit onset for veggies and fruits, I made a tea (soaking materials and using the water from soaking) of this plus my homemade compost and did target watering for heavy feeding crops. My plants thrived, and I produced crazy amounts of food. I had 1 1/4 acre in production, about half was a u-pick pumpkin operation. 3 bags of this a season did me well.

Answer:	The way to tell the difference is by the blade. The green handled peeler has 2 straight edges, like a regular peeler, which is for firm vegetables (potatoes, parsnips, cucumbers, etc). The red handled peeler has serrated blades which is more for soft fruits and vegetables, like tomatoes or peaches.Plus you could always use a Sharpie Pen and write GREEN/RED on the handles.

Answer:	In my opinion, it will peel beets. I'm not so sure about butternut squash - that's pretty tough. But the blades are very sharp, so possibly. These are the best peelers I've ever come across, so I think they would work on most tough veggies.
