Answer:	Any metal product can scratch ceramic cookware. Just use caution when you use it.
Question:	What is the actual length from top of handle to bottom of masher? Is it 14.8" or not
Answer:	No. I have this masher and it's is 10 inches from top of masher to bottom. Which is great. I absolutely love the size. It is so well worth the price. It is a great product. I totally recommend this masher by kitchen aid. I hope this was helpful for you calnevamom.

Answer:	Dimensions listed are 14.8 inches and it is barely 10 inches tall. I will return mine since I selected this based on the height.
