I monitor the downspouts about once a month to insure any buildup of debris are kept clear. The screens will still allow drainage with debris just not as efficient. |

What I've done with mine is to cut oversized pieces of screen mesh, place them over the end of the downspout and keep them in place either with extra thick strong rubber bands or a plumbers pipe clamp (zip ties would work too) |

These tend to bunch up at the strainers , get soggy and turn into mush, eventually clogging the strainer and overflowing the gutters. I used them for five years and had to clean out the gutters near the strainers to keep the water flowing. I would not recommend them as a solution when seeds or small, fine leaves are concerned. |

Test First: Baked on finishes or powder coated finishes?
Gutters with baked on finishes are durable and can withstand cleanings. Other gutter finishes have less durable finishes or have oxidized and become weaker over time. 1) Dip
Screw the gutter Smop on any standard (acme thread) extension pole. Pour Chomp Gutter Cleaner in a large bucket. Pre-wet plantings and unintended cleaning areas. Dip gutter Smop in the bucket of gutter cleaner.
2) Wipe
Wipe gutters, eaves, soffits, fascia and siding with the moistened gutter Smop. Avoid working in direct sun. Do not allow to dry on surfaces or glass. Rust and some stains may be permanent.
3) Rinse
Thoroughly rinse wiped areas, gutters, siding, fascia, eaves, windows, plantings, runoff areas and unintended areas with clean water.

The Home Depot product gives you the option of securing the Gutter Guard using either the glue strip, the screws, or both. I would recommend using the screws, since I have no idea how well the glue holds over the long term. If you have the glue strip, you might as well use it along with the screws, since all you have to do is pull off the tape to expose the glue. One other minor difference is that the Raptor instructions are printed on cheap paper, not the heavy glossy paper you get with the Home Depot product. |

FastenMaster's Gutter Screws are specifically designed to replace gutter spikes and offers a slightly larger diameter and aggressive threads to tightly fill existing spike holes for a strong, watertight fit. Durable UV resistant head paint matches most gutter systems. A thick galvanized base coating guarantees it will not rust or react with aluminum. Strong metal ferrules, instead of plastic, are also included.

| Answer: | I had the same problem. A valley on my roof directly above my front door. The water rushing off rhe roof was overloading that particular area. I installed the gutter guards using aluminum rivets and water proof sealant. They have completely solved the problem and are still working great to this day. Buy them, you won't regret it. |

I suggest going online and search for videos of "gutter screw replacement" or "fix sagging vinyl gutters" and see what others have done. Maybe you will see something that matches your gutters. These FastenMaster screws worked for me as I was replacing existing gutter nails and the screws went into the same holes. |
