Answer:	I use this tripod with a gimbal mounted to support a Sigma 150-600mm attached to a Nikon D800/D810 with grip. It works well, and this was the set up the tripod was specifically purchased for. The center column adds a source of instability. The center column lock needs to be well tightened to eliminate any play. The lock mechanism is built strong enough to be well tightened. The center column should not be extended when stability is required. The tripod has very few plastic parts, and none subject to tension under load. The leg clamps, center column lock lever, and leg spreader lock levers are all metal. The lock levers are all repositionable. They can be tightened very snugly without fear of breakage. All in all a stable platform for a heavy lens/camera combination and at an attractive price.
