Answer:	I've only used it for family sized cans, but it's tall enough to open large cans. However, I'm not sure if a commercial sized cans would fit.

Question:	How do you use it to open Jars
Answer:	I know this is a little late but there is a Manual can opener that is arthritis friendly in my opinion. It is the Swing-A-Way 609WH Magnetic Wall Can Opener, It is screwed into the wall. Once it is set up you open the top and set your can in, once the can is set in the cutters it holds it there and there is a REAL magnet that grabs the lid and holds it in place and a good sized handle that you turn to cut off the lid. Since the can is locked in and it is mounted to the wall it is easy to turn the handle since you do not have to worry about holding the handles together or the can moving on you. This is the ONLY one that is easy on my arthritis that is not electric.The most difficult part is getting the can locked into the jaws. It is made to lay flat(ish) against the wall and pulls out and when you need it. There are slots that the whole can opener drops into to keep it in whatever position you need.
Question:	Will it cut large cans, bigger than a standard can
Answer:	Do you have to use the gray handle to the left in the first picture to rotate the opener? I bought what appeared to be a similar manual can opener with a magnet and ended up very disappointed. I have severe arthritis in my hands, in spite of wearing braces, doing PT, OT, and exercises, etc. Not only did I have a lot of trouble using that product, but this one looks even more complicated. On the other one, most of the time the cutting mechanism ended up "in the open" even after I'd spent a lot of effort turning the handle. I couldn't tell whether or not it had cut the lid off until I looked. This one looks easier to use, even though my arthritis is worse, since I got rid of the other one. I also bought another type, a good brand, second hand. It was very tall, and plugged into the wall. It had a long lever type handle and appeared to be easier to manage. But the mechanism fell into the "tower" and broke off. I think a battery driven can opener like this one, if it works properly, is more useful for people with hand problems, especially if you live where there are occasional power outages. So this isn't really an answer so much as another question in the same vein, I guess.

Answer:	If it doesn't cut for them..then I would say they have a serious operating problem! My cuts just fine..I've been using it everyday since i purchased! Keep it clean..and in the locked position after use! Open the locking device with the spring hinged lock handle..and open the opener wide enough to accept the next can to be opened..make sure it is positioned to cut into the can lid..and press (using some pressure..depending on the 'temper' of the metal of the can..as some cans are softer metal) )..then rotate the cutting gear handle and the cutting blade will do what it's designed to do! Open the can!! Don't be too 'girly'..it's a tool!! And..tools requie at least some skill!

Answer:	The opening wheel (not really a blade) does NOT touch the contents in the can. It only contacts the outside edge of the can rim. So the food is not contaminated. Sometimes, some of the food leaks out and gets of the wheel. I use a small brush dipped in warm dish water to clean the wheel. A tooth brush works great.

Answer:	Imagine getting something at the store where the package is hard plastic. You run to get scissors to cut through the package but with some effort, you still can't stretch it open without cutting further.. You then cut through horizontally from one end to the other and are trying to pry open the packaging and you cut yourself with a fountain of blood flowing out of your cut fingers. Still not frustrated?"Frustration-Free Packaging" is VERY straightforward packaging which makes opening said product(s) VERY seamless, is friendly to the environment by being recyclable, and is simply a no-brainer to open. This type of packaging comes cheaper because it is usually cheaper to manufacture a simple cardboard box/envelope (ordered in volume) versus the annoying plastic packaging or needlessly involved boxes that serve no useful function (i.e. complicated designs come at a cost).Some personal opinions:- I choose frustration-free regardless of price because of the ease of use when it comes to opening the items.- They're in some cases more reliable than the manufacturer's packaging being crammed into a box with bags of air and wiggle room in part due to shock sensitivity.- I've been cut before trying to open retail-packaged, clamshell packaging (the plastic that usually gets cut with scissors). Answer:	It is not capable of opening a jar lid as in twisting it off. I'm guessing that if you wanted to open a mason jar by cutting the lid like the top of a can then it may work, but then the lid would no longer be reusable.
