Answer:	It doesn't work on beer bottles if you want to keep the fizz in for overnight storage. It may work for a few hours but over time the gas pressure builds up and the stopper gets pushed out. If you are thinking about storing your beer for more than a few hours, try the Zyliss bottle stopper, those work for me on beer bottles very well.

Answer:	Yes, mine is much the same. Doesn't work exactly like a bike pump where it feels like air is being pumped during the full stroke. I've had mine 8 or 9 years and it's still working great.
Question:	Approximately how many times do you have to pump these? I removed the ring on the 2 ltr bottle, and after 30 pumps, still no pressure. defective
Answer:	We opened one and tested it on a 2 liter bottle that had about 1/3 of its drink gone and it took about 12 pumps to work. However we did leave the ring on our bottle. If you have the ring you may want to place it back on and try it (probably won't help but no harm in trying). I know that it depends on how full the bottle is as to how many times you have to pump it. Also try holding it slightly at an angle and see if that helps.
