Answer:	I guess you could use it for anything, however, these are designed to provide only limited chilling for alcoholic beverages which require less of a chill. Iced coffee I believe would need ice cubes in order to achieve the full chilliness required.

Answer:	I've found that I chill my glass and use the stones to make them work best.

Answer:	To get them ready they tell you to run them under water. I wouldn't recommend washing with soap. Only because rocks are porous and may absorb some of the soap. No one wants soapy whiskey!
