| Answer: | Excellent question. There are a few of reasons: the richer/darker dyes cost more and they take a longer to absorb fully into the cotton fibers. Also, it is harder to be precise when replicating the colors and any cotton fiber imperfections can make the colored towels look blotchy, thus the rejection rate is quite a bit higher with the darker colors. Finally, the mill makes many times more white towels than it does any one of the colored towels, so there is economy of scale with the white. Let me know if you have any other questions. Russell |
