Answer:	The tool is an addon tool for Kobalts line of battery operated tools. This item on amazon does not include batteries as stated per the listing. Most major brands sell the tools separate to give the consumers options on which tools they want. Once you purchase a battery you have access to multiple different tools in the Kobalt 24 volt line.

Answer:	I bought the multi-tool pack, and the battery/ charger were included; however, I don't think it is included with a single tool purchase. It should specify on the Amazon description.

Answer:	I would not wash them in the dishwasher. They are tubular and would hold water if under pressure in a dishwasher. They work great otherwise.

Answer:	On!y thing I can suggest is to make sure the battery is well seated in the charger. It's easy slide it in un-level, which means you don't get the charge light to glow. I have three different Kobalt 40-volt devices, so there chargers, but have never had a problem with the one I use. I'm thinking Kobalt will send you another charger, if you request.
