| Answer: | Depends on where it's leaking from. I did some prep work on mine first to try and eliminate leaking from around the spout. The spout is cone shaped, while the hole is cylinder shape, not exactly the best of matches. So I sanded down the thickest portion on the spout, and did the same in reverse to the hole (wrapped sandpaper around spout, set in hole and rotated it). When seating it, I pushed it in far as I could, then I set a small block of wood on top of it, and gave it some taps with a hammer (not hard) and that seated it. Mine will still drip from time to time as the temperature changes. The air inside will expand/contract (that's what pushes liquid inside/outside of wood) and it'll drip from around (or through) the spout. But not much, a drop or two. Here's an idea, try dripping some hot wax at the location of any leaks. Hope the wall of text helps! |

But, since an old fashioned has sugar and bitters added, these components will leach into the barrel wood. This might not be a problem if you always use the barrel for the same purpose, but is you later change to a different cocktail or spirits the new liquor will take up some of the flavor of the original old fashioned. |

When you go up to 10 liter -20 liters then the bung head size is about 1- 1 1/2 inches wide. All of our barrels come with bungs as well but not the ones that have a pressure relief valve on it. Now, the ability to achieve similar results directly in the bottle - adding elements of Flavor, color, aroma and complexity - is made possible with Oak infusion spirals from the barrel mill. | Answer: | Just sampled some un-aged moonshine style whiskey that had been in a 10L barrel for 3 years. It was incredibly smooth and flavorful. My friend said it had been rough going in and it had really started coming into its own in the last 2 months. I think your question depends on what quality you start with. I'm going to start with a 10L or 20L and just plan on waiting at least 3 years. |

| Answer: | No questions are stupid when you don't know the answer. Yes, it also dispenses the liquor from the front spout. Had our barrel now for several months. I'm not so interested in the aging aspect as I am in how cool it looks on counter, although I keep it topped off with a bourbon/rye old-fashioned blend. |

How does it work?
To start, cure your barrel, then pour your desired liquor or beverage into the cask along with or without a Swish Barrel Essence (not included) and then sit tight because in just two weeks time your one-of-a-kind blend will be aged to perfection and ready to serve straight from the tap.
Due to the higher surface area ratio of a mini barrel, spirits will age 8x to 10x faster than commercial size barrels, thus giving you a well aged taste in weeks rather than years. This accelerated ageing process is used in craft distilleries and breweries all throughout the world.

| Answer: | I have bought a few of these barrels, they have no varnish on the exterior. The natural finish is important so that whatever is being aged in the barrel doesn’t pick up any flavors other than the oak. |
