12 best kegerator cleaning kits

Kegerator cleaning kits are essential tools for anyone who owns a kegerator, which is a device used to dispense draft beer from kegs. Keeping your kegerator clean is crucial to ensure the quality and taste of the beer you serve. Here's what you should know about kegerator cleaning kits:

  1. Purpose: Kegerator cleaning kits are designed to clean the various components of a kegerator system, including the beer lines, faucets, couplers, and keg connectors.Regular cleaning helps remove residue, mold, and bacteria that can affect the flavor of the beer and the overall cleanliness of the system.

  2. Components: A typical kegerator cleaning kit includes several components, such as:

    • Cleaning solution: A specially formulated cleaning solution or beer line cleaner that is safe for use with beer systems.
    • Pump or hand-held pressurized cleaning bottle: This is used to push the cleaning solution through the lines and components.
    • Faucet brush: A small brush designed to clean the inside of the faucet and remove any buildup.
    • Keg cleaning brush: A brush for cleaning the inside of kegs, especially if you have homebrewed beer.
    • Cleaning powder or tablets: Some kits include cleaning powder or tablets that you mix with water to create a cleaning solution.
  3. Cleaning Process: The cleaning process typically involves mixing the cleaning solution with water, running it through the beer lines and components using the pump or cleaning bottle, and then rinsing thoroughly with clean water. This process helps remove beer residue, yeast, and other contaminants.

  4. Frequency: It's recommended to clean your kegerator system regularly, especially when switching between different types of beer. Many homebrewers and bar owners clean their systems every few weeks to maintain beer quality.

  5. Preventing Contamination: Regular cleaning not only maintains the taste of the beer but also prevents contamination that can lead to off-flavors or health concerns.

  6. Safety: Be sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions and safety guidelines when using a kegerator cleaning kit. Some cleaning solutions can be harmful if not handled properly.

  7. Compatibility: When purchasing a kegerator cleaning kit, make sure it is compatible with your specific kegerator model and the types of kegs you plan to use.

  8. Maintenance: In addition to cleaning, kegerator owners should also perform routine maintenance tasks like checking for leaks, adjusting CO2 pressure, and replacing worn-out components to keep the system in optimal condition.

Regularly using a kegerator cleaning kit helps maintain the quality of the beer you serve, prolongs the life of your equipment, and ensures a clean and sanitary draft beer system for your enjoyment.

User questions & answers

Question: Does this work for a euro slider system
Answer: Hello, Yes, this connects into the beer line fitting, which is standard on industry couplers. Anthony
Question: Bottle is not getting pressurized any solution or just return it
Answer: Usually when we hear of this issue, it is because the siphon tube was not installed correctly so the air that you pump into the container just goes up the tube instead of pushing liquid through the tube. You can find setup instructions here: https://www.beveragefactory.com/images/guides/Pressurized%20Cleaning%20Kit%20Manual%20-%20low%20res%20V2.pdf If that is not your issue, please give our customer service a call at 888-980-4810 so that we may troubleshoot your issue.
Question: Is this product dishwasher safe
Answer: Not sure. But you only should be using it to clean out the beer line. The last use is clear water so it should only need to be rinsed.
Question: does this work with 5 gal ball lock kegs
Answer: Hi ikki79,Thank you for your question. In order for this cleaning kit to work with a 5 gallon ball lock keg you will need a 3/16 splicer, or you can use the empty keg as the cleaning vessel once you are done brewing. Cleaning your lines is an important step in dispensing great tasting draft beer

Beer lines require periodic cleaning because beer leaves behind yeast, protein, and mineral deposits that can affect the taste and smell of your beer. Mold can also find its way into your draft beer system fittings through exposure to air. If left untended, these factors can create a scale called calcium oxalate, commonly referred to as beer stone. If it is not completely removed in a cleaning process, it will leave an unsanitary surface that can harbor microorganisms which grow very quickly and affect the flavor and shelf life of your beer.

Lines should be cleaned on a regular basis to prevent stone build-up. We recommend that you clean your lines about every 6 weeks or every time you switch out a keg. Commercial applications require more frequent cleaning, depending on the beer system length. Systems less than 25' in length require bi-monthly cleaning, while longer systems should be cleaned following brewery recommendations and/or state guidelines.

Connects in seconds

Our connection attaches directly to the beer line, allowing you to pump the solution forward through the line and eliminating the need to detach the faucet to clean the system.

Powerful pressure

The hand pump on this kit provides powerful pressure that is sufficient for longer draws and cooling coils, and more than enough for shorter residential applications.

Includes faucet brush

Let the faucet soak in the cleaning solution and then use the provided faucet brush to scrub any particles off the surface for a deep clean, right to the tap!

Includes 32 oz. Beer Line Cleaner

Only chemicals specifically designed for beer line cleaning will dissolve the build-up of beer stone, bacteria, mold, and yeast without leaving behind any harmful residue.

These work on standard and stainless steel tower shanks we tested them on. I have nor heard of any cross threading as of yet so I really do not know how yours is not working. Question: Does this unit only require disconnecting the keg connector, unscrewing the beer line from the keg connector and opening the tap
Answer: Hello, This kit cleans through the faucet connection to the shank, so the faucet must be removed. Anthony
Question: What is the size of the coupler, I seem to have misplaced mine
Answer: If you are referring to the fitting on the end of the tube that connects to the faucet shank, it is 1-1/8" with 18 threads, which is the U.S. Beer Industry Standard. If you need a replacement part for this kit, you can contact us at 1-888-980-4810.
Question: Do i need to disconnect my faucet and handle to use this or does it just replace where the keg would go? also is co2 turned off or used to flush
Answer: Yes, you need to disconnect the faucet (relatively simple) to use the product. You do not need your cO2 on to use this. The pump handle does the work.
Question: i have a us sanky keg and the female(screw in part on the cleaning pump) part is too small...HELP
Answer: The connector is a standard size; where are you connecting the female end? Are you removing the faucet on the tower and connecting the pump there? If it doesn't fit contact the seller of the cleaning kit.

Mix solution

Remove the cap and the pump on the cleaning bottle. Dissolve one 0.5 oz. pouch of beer line cleaner into 1 quart of water, and then reassemble.

Disconnect faucet

Remove the faucet from the shank using the included faucet wrench. You can soak the faucet in some of the cleaning solution for several minutes, and then scrub with the included faucet brush if needed. Thoroughly rinse the faucet under fresh water with the faucet in the open position.

Attach line to faucet shank

Connect the attachment on the end of the cleaning kit line to the shank coupling nut, tightening slightly with the wrench.

Pump solution through line

Use the pump on the lid of the cleaning bottle to push the beer line cleaning solution through the dispense system.

Allow solution to empty into bucket

Place the end of the beer line hose into a bucket so that you can easily dispose of the cleaning solution once it has run through the dispense system.

Clean again and again and again!

The kit comes with 4 packets of no rinse cleaner, enough for 4 cleanings. We recommend cleaning your lines every 6 weeks or whenever you change your kegs.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this work on pin lock kegs
Answer: Hi Miles W,Thank you for your question. In theory, yes you could use this kit on pin lock kegs. You would need to attach it to the shank to run throughout the lines. However, for pin lock kegs it is easier to run a cleaning solution and run it through the keg and then follow up with running water through it. If you have further questions, feel free to contact our technical support at 800-710-9939 option 4. Regards,StevieBeverage Factory
Question: Why did I not get a faucet wrench
Answer: Hi Jon, If it was ordered from Kegconnection it should of had a faucet wrench so you can remove your faucet from the tower or fridge shank. If not in your packet please contact us using the order number from Amazon. We will kindly send you the missing part. Tommy G at Kegconnection
Question: Mine did not have an O-ring, thus the solution leaks. Does anyone know what size it is
Answer: We did not get one either, but after contacting the seller, they sent a few and they fit. Sorry, don't know definitely size, but you can also get them from local store.
Question: What is the diameter of the stainless steel nut going to the kegerator
Answer: I really wish I knew. I know it fits a "standard" kegerator without any issues. By standard, I mean ones that can hook up to a regular American keg of beer easily without any issues. I recently discovered, however, that with any European beers (we ordered a keg of Warsteiner), you need a special European tap in order to get to your beer. I hope I answered your question.

Question: is this product rated for food grade? I see a lot of these pump kits are garden sprayers converted which i dont think is safe for food grade lines

Question: What type of keg coupler system is used with Stella beer

Question: Is the plastic on the pump food grade
Answer: It is used to pump line cleaner, disinfectant, through the beer lines and tap, I am not sure if it is food grade, I don't think it actually needs to be if it is used for it's intended purpose. I would assume that it is, but I am not positive. You will need to contact the manufacturer.
Question: Is there an adapter for cornelius kegs?\
Answer: There is not an adapter for cornelius kegs. What a lot of people will do is just mix cleaning solution in their cornelius keg and dispense it through the lines like they're pouring beer. Then run clean water through the keg and lines to rinse them. If you would like to purchase the cleaner separately, you can do so here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00IYE614S/
