The HomeBrewStuff Nano-Brewery 1 Gallon Beer Ingredient Kit

From our signature Nano-Brewery collection comes our Smoking Scotsman Smoked Scotish Ale recipe kit.

Some Scottish historians theorize that Charles Stuart didn't flee Scotland after the failed 1745 uprising. Instead, he had a few too many in the Outer Hebrides and then just sort of woke up in France. History may keep her secrets, but you can share the experience with this smoked Scottish wee heavy style ale. There's a little Jacobite Revolution in every bottle. These are the strongest of all Scottish ales, with a garnet-brown hue, profound maltiness, and high alcohol content. Our Smoked Scottish showcases complex toffee complimented by a light but noticeable smoked flavor and aroma and a restrained hop character. Best imbibed in small doses, this kt continues to develop with age and is great for cellaring. Finishes and ready to drink in 3-4 weeks.

Designed to pair perfectly with any of our 1 gallon Nano-Brewery Kits.

KLONDIKE (ALASKAN) AMBER ALE Home Brew Beer Recipe Ingredient Kit

Home Brew Stuff

Based on 10 reviews Check latest price

Product description

Inspired by alaskan Amber from alaskan brewing company this rich malty beer features a pronounced hop profile from traditional European and Pacific Northwest hops. The commercial version of this beer is an ALT style which comes from the German word "ALT" meaning "old". this refers to the aging that alts undergo since they ferment more slowly and at colder temperatures than most makes. Slow fermentation helps condition the flavors, contributing to the overall balance and smoothness. This beer can be fermented at 60°F to make the traditional ALT version or at standard 70°f temperature for a different (but still very good) ale. User questions & answers

Question: how much honey is needed to make one batch
Answer: I use about 3 lbs (1 quart) per gallon.
Question: How can i download a pdf version of the instructions, "complete guide to mead
Answer: I'm sure you could Google it and find it. I suggest the book "How to make mead like a viking"
Question: What country is the honey from
Answer: The United States, near Boise Idaho.
Question: Could I perhaps get a list of good things to buy alongside the kit, such as bottles, corks, corking tool, refill bundles? Thanks in advance
Answer: Generally you will want 750 ml glass bottles for mead, but you could do a smaller flip top or beer bottle if you would like to do smaller amounts. Corking is the best option for aging your mead, but if you are mainly doing short meads then a beer bottle with a cap or flip top bottle will work fine. I would recommend Portuguese floor corker for ease and longevity if you are exclusively corking, but a combo capper/corker will work if you want to do a mixture. If you look up Nano-Meadery on Amazon you should see our variety of refill kits available, but feel free to experiment with whatever sounds good to you!

GERMAN HEFEWEIZEN ALE Home Brew Beer Recipe Ingredient Kit

Home Brew Stuff

Based on 16 reviews Check latest price

Product description

This German Hefeweizen is a traditional Bavarian wheat beer with yeast that produce a signature clove and banana character. The hopping rate is very low, which allows an underlying, grainy, bready flavor from the wheat and Pilsner malt to shine through. It is a light, approachable beer with a hazy appearance and has a soft texture. Picture is a representation of this product, ingredients may differ from Recipe to recipe.

  • Ingredients for 5 gallons of beer
  • Complete Instructions, 5 oz Priming Sugar, 50 Bottle Caps
  • Specialty Grains w/ steeping bag & Malt Extract
  • Pre portioned Hop additions
  • High Quality Dry Yeast

User questions & answers

Question: Do I need extra equipment for this, like for mash
Answer: This is an extract kit with a small amount of steeping grain. You do not need a mash tun, only a boil kettle and fermenter.
Question: Do I have to use all of it at once? My fermenting equipment is less than 5 gallons
Answer: This is probably one of the recipes you can get away with that on. The grain bill is simple enough that splitting it will give you 2 identical beers. With other recipes its impossible to say if you can split all the different grains in half with them milled together. The biggest issue would be opening the yeast packet and not using it all. This would open you up to contaminating your yeast.
Question: Does this package come with dry or liquid extract
Answer: it has been some time since I ordered this but I am pretty sure it was dry.
