You will definitely ruin your teapot and potentially injure yourself if try to put the teapot on direct heat. Cannot stress this enough.

Answer:	No, this will not allow for brewing of smaller cups. The basket sits a ways off the bottom. Very disappointing for an otherwise perfect teapot.

Answer:	You can put it on the stove, but I prefer to boil water separately and pour into it. I Fing the glass handle becomes too hot on the stove.
