Answer:	Since the answers differ, maybe it varies from color/pattern to color/pattern. I ordered the "cream," which is the same in other Gracie China teacup sets as the "Pink Petite Fleur." It has nine holes in a diamond pattern inside where the spout meets the body of the teapot. I would note also that, because I don't want Madame Trelawney reading my tea leaves, I use a standard metal infuser/strainer that came with a tea mug. It fits the top hole of my teapot perfectly, and no having to deal with anything that gets through the teapot's "strainer"...although tea purists may consider this cheating. :)

I was pleased with my purchase, I did buy them for my daughter as a Christmas present, mainly was looking for a nice set at a reasonable price. If I could add pictures I would.
