Answer: You have to get the oven up to 350 degrees for the stone to hold the heat long enough. Our oven goes to 300 and the stone was hot enough to cook for 15-20 mins so the extra heat does make a difference. Great product though.

Answer: You can literally cook anything you want to on the stone. The trick is to properly sear the cut of meat first. Then you cut off approximately 1" strips and cook it as you're going to eat it. This way, every bite of your meat is freshly cooked hot. You can put garlic butter,pepper sauce, olive oil, or whatever you want on the meat before you you place the slices on the stone. It's really amazing! If your meat isn't perfect, you only have yourself to blame.

Answer: You should be able to use Pam Spray- I use Olive Oil and it works fine. This pan is amazing! We are staying in a friends mother in law until we move to the UK and have only an induction stove one burner portable. We've used this pan for EVERYTHING and it is incredible. Question: Why does my pizza stick? I have pre heated each time as instructed
Answer: Hi Sticking will occur when: 1/the stone is not hot enough, this is the main reason of sticking. In the convection oven without heating tubes, it will take longer to preheat. We advise you to turn on the top broiler and put the stone on top rack to preheat with the highest temperature of your oven. Maybe you can burn the stone on burner, and it will heat up much quickly. You can also use infrared thermometer to get the temperature. If the temperature lower than 450F, the pizza may won't have brown bottom, even turn out to be sticking. It's hard to tell the accurate preheating time of reaching that high temp because it always depend on the performance of the oven or grill. One hour probably not enough in some ovens which can't reach their indicated temp. Infrared thermometer will show you the right way. 2/ the dough is too wet. For this, dusting some flour or cornmeal with your dough is useful, you can also put parchment paper on the stone to prevent sticking.

Answer: As to thickness: I measure the stone proper at 0.5" thick. However, when on a flat surface it sits on small "feet" that may raise its height from the surface to 0.8; I haven't measured that height.
Question: Will this withstand temperatures of 900 degrees
Answer: Absolutely! I use this stone exclusively on a powerful 36" Lynx grill. I cook Neapolitan style pizzas in 2 minutes, no turning or fuss. Using an IR thermometer to test its surface temp, I've found the stone withstands rising to at least 790 degrees F in the grill. Just like using it in the oven, put it on the grill before firing up the heat. And I suggest using indirect heat. I set the flames to low or med-low directly beneath the stone, and crank those on either side to high. Haven't had any problems... other than an intense desire to eat pizza every night.
Question: The description says 20" wide. Is it really
Answer: Yes. I use it almost every week on a gas grill. I light the grill and set the stone on it so they warm together. I start on high then lower the heat as necessary for desired temp. I shoot for 450-500 degree, cook for 5 minutes, rotate pizza 90 degrees and check bottom and go for another 5 minutes.

Question: Does it come with the lid
Answer: The ring at the base of the bowl is unglazed, so the porous clay might possibly scratch ceramic if you slide or rotate the bowl. If you simply set it down and pick it back up, be mindful of not rotating the bowl while stirring, I'm sure it will be fine. For those of us with gas stoves, the base ring has little grooves that fit the range top "fingers" around the burner and hold the bowls both upright and stationary. You don't need that on a ceramic - it shouldn't move much. These are amazing to cook with! (The "trivet" seems to be melamine, so NOT on the stove for that part.)
Question: can it be used on an open fire
Answer: Yes it is 100% ceramics. It is fired at high temperature twice for durability and tolerance toward thermal shock. The glaze is made with a naturally occurring mineral called perlite. Answer: Long as it's not an induction style cook surface. Then you would need a metal diffuser between the bowl and stove.

Answer: You can make crunch rice, but the bowl needs to be really hot and the rice needs to be not too moist. If the rice is too moist, it cools off the bowl before the rice crisps.Since this bowl is thick ceramic instead of stone,it does not hold the heat quite as well, but it is certainly sufficient.I clean mine with vegetable oil and a paper towel just like I do with terra cotta bakeware and cast iron. Food should not stick to it, but if it does, you can use a plastic scraper.
