User questions & answers
Question: | What is the blade thickness at spine |
Answer: | I got my BELLA as a Christmas present in 2015 and I totally loved it! I used a variety of types and brands of coffee along with cocoa, and frequently used the machine to make soup, iced tea, various kinds of fancy iced coffee and other fun concoctions. It was easy to clean and took up very little counter space in my smallish kitchen. The only downside was that my kitchen caught fire in 2017 and I lost everything in that room along with a good portion of the rest of my belongings. I normally buy extended warranties, but since the coffee maker was a gift, I didn't really have that option. I am still slowly replacing everything I had, and I'm for sure going to get another awesome BELLA Coffee Maker. The main lesson I learned is to ALWAYS CARRY RENTERS' INSURANCE, even if you don't think you can spare the additional cash. My latest quote was $18/month, which wasn't too bad overall, but it seemed a little high from what I remembered it being listed on my initial rental paperwork. I investigated further and found there was an initial $20 fee charged for simply breaking the total amount due into "12 easy monthly payments" and then a sneaky additional $5/month "convenience fee" on top of my regular monthly payments. I did some "cack-a-lay-shins" and discovered if I could haggle the initial $20 fee down and then make 4 quarterly payments instead of paying every month I would end up knocking off 8 of the $5 fees (aka $40), therefore paying about the same lower total 4 times a year instead of 12! (Read your paperwork before signing and NEVER be afraid to ask questions and/or try to haggle. Many times it's possible to get a better deal by simply establishing a rapport with your salesperson and asking for him/her when you call. Even if you have to use email, try to remember something personal from your previous conversations. "Say Jim, how did your wife's garden turn out? Did the deer end up eating the carrots before you could pick them or did my little secret trick work? Are you overrun with tomatoes and zucchini like we are?" ) The other reason I personally didn't carry renters' insurance is because my landlord was a close family member. I figured if the worst happened and the house caught on fire, he would use part of his homeowners' insurance to replace the few possessions I needed and/or really cared about. I discovered that during times of extraordinary stress, people tend to look to their own interests in the beginning, and by the time they get to you, it might be too late; the deadline has passed or they've already submitted all the required paperwork WITHOUT anything of yours included. Rather than feeling hurt and angry, or even progressing to starting WWIII, just do the requisite paperwork when you move again, get or change automobiles or even buy a new frying pan! Check everything you buy to see if there is a warranty and be sure to go online or mail in any required paperwork. Next it is important to put all warranty paperwork and users manuals into a metal filebox. Things like car and house paperwork should be put in a bank safety deposit box if you have one (or, hey! It's a great time to think about getting one!) I know some of this sounds pretty silly, but it can be more practical than you think. After the fire at my house, I didn't get free replacements of my washing machine or sofa, but I got a vacuum, 2 nice Kindles, a tv, several small appliances and assorted kitchen gadgets. None of those things put a roof over my head, but when you're down to nothing, little things mean a lot. tl;dr this coffee maker is great!! |

User questions & answers
Question: | Does this fit in the pro 8 piece block set block |
Answer: | I don't own calipers to measure the thickness, but it is the thinnest blade of all my knives. It is also the lightest; a delight to use. For very thick/hard peels, like butternut squash, I prefer to use a heavier knife. |
Question: | what model of sharpener is recommended for this knife |
Answer: | not long, about 55-65 cm |
Question: | Is this heavy duty enough for slaughtering animals? or do you recommend a different model? I'm looking for something I can use to split ribs, etc |
Answer: | No spare parts, I have called Sesio and they don't offer spare parts but since there is a 2 year warranty, the customer representative said to keep your receipt, call 866-832-4843 and they will help you. |
Question: | Does this come with a blade cover or storage sleeve, since it won't fit in the block |
Answer: | The only things I know of are to use less water, make the coffee grounds finer and change the amount of coffee. This is a basic machine and there's not much you can tweak. It sounds kind of nuts to get an expensive precision burr grinder for a $40 buck machine unless you already have one. I only use mine for K-Cups but already have a burr grinder so I might try the filter for grounds some day in a pinch. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Whats the thickmess of the blade in mm |
Answer: | The ZWILLING Pro 8 piece set uses every available slot in the block that it comes with. That particular black does not have a slot wide enough for a cleaver. |
Question: | what's the difference between the “regular hollow santoku” and a hollow “rocking santoku |
Answer: | I use Japanese wet stones to sharpen all my knives and cleavers |
Question: | Will it cut meat bones |
Answer: | This is technically a vegetable cleaver so it is not intended for butcher work. I have used it to split chickens; however, I would recommend that if you intend to use this for multiple rib splittings I might advise a heavier gauge, heavier weight cleaver. |
Question: | where is this Zwilling J.A. Henckels Twin Signature 7-Inch Vegetable Cleaver made? is it in Germany |
Answer: | No it does not, I altered my butcher block so it would fit in |

Precision-forged from a single piece of steel, the SIGMAFORGE knives have an exceptionally sturdy, balanced and flexible blade.
The Japanese version of the chefs knife, the santoku is useful for straight chopping, mincing, and slicing of larger quantities of vegetables and meat. Cooks with smaller hands may prefer this 7-inch blade as the shorter length offers better control while cutting. The width also provides a great platform for transporting chopped vegetables from cutting board to saute pan. This version of the santoku actually has a hollow edge or oval cut-outs along the blade. The benefit to this blade style is that cooks can cut paper-thin slices and individual slices wont stick to the blade.
Part of the Four Star series of cutlery, this santoku has a fully forged high-carbon stainless-steel blade. The blade, bolster, and tang are welded of one piece of metal using Henckelss Sinter Metal Component Technology, which distributes the right quantities of metal to each part of the knife. The result is a longer-lasting edge and a more consistent angle on the blade. The blade has also undergone Henckelss Friodur ice-hardening process, which further strengthens it and protects it from discoloration. The black polypropelene handle offers a secure and comfortable grip and is hygienically attached so there are no gaps between the handle and blade for food to become trapped. This santoku should be hand washed and is covered by a lifetime warranty. --Cristina Vaamonde

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the red label on the handle permanent or peels off? I have the same knife, brand new, and came w/o the label |
Answer: | My guess is about 1/16th/ to 1/8th inches. Three mm maybe. We gifted it to our son a picky chef in his own kitchen and he likes it in doing his veggie dish preps particularly. Hope this helps. It is a fine instrument. |
Question: | Is it a wooden handle |
Answer: | The traditional Santoku has a straight cutting edge. The blade on the rocking Santoku is curved upward, like a chef’s knife, to allow a smooth rocking motion, ideal for chopping and mincing. |
Question: | Hi. How long does it take to get to Mexico |
Answer: | smaller bones, sure, however this is not a meat cleaver and is not intended to cut through big bone or joints. This weighs less than a meat cleaver and the edge will not hold up to that sort of heavy chopping. |
Question: | What is the difference between this 7" one and the Professional 7" that' costs more than double |
Answer: | Yes it is made in Germany |

User questions & answers
Question: | Are these made in China? Where are they made |
Answer: | No. Unless I missed it and accidentally threw it away. But it is an awesome knife. Slicing a tomato for the first time....almost better than my “first time”....if ya know what I mean |
Question: | Are the handles plastic |
Answer: | I own both the 7" and the 5.5". The 5.5" is a little small for me and my knuckles hit the cutting board if I am using it to chop. My wife who has smaller hands uses it a lot and is comfortable for her. I find the 7" is a good replacement for a 8" chefs knife if you feel the 8" chefs knife is a little too big for you. |
Question: | Where are these made |
Answer: | My Zwilling/Henckels Santoku knife blade is 7" long and 1-5/8" wide at the widest part near the handle. It should fit easily into a 2" slot. |
Question: | Is this block black or dark gray |
Answer: | The knife is made in Germany. |

User questions & answers
Question: | What is the blade width |
Answer: | Not sure, I know originally this brand was made in Germany. We have bought two sets, one for us and one for our daughter-in-law, and the tip of one of her steak knives broke off while cutting into some brownies |
Question: | where is this knife made |
Answer: | Handles are metal and POM (Polyoxymethylene), with riveted support. Interestingly enough, the POM is textured and feels soft and rubberized. They offer an extremely good grip, and the quality is surprisingly superb (for a blocked set). I've owned this particular set for almost two years now - no issues whatsoever. |
Question: | How wide (in millimeters) is the top "edge" of the blade, near the grip -- the part your hand bears down on during use? I like 4mm |
Answer: | China, not as good a quality as those made in Germany. |
Question: | Is there a difference between this knife and j.a. henckels international forged synergy 8-inch chef's knife which costs |
Answer: | Black |

User questions & answers
Question: | how wide are the blades at the hilt? Mine is only 14 mm, a hair more than 1/2 an inch, and I a looking for a replacement |
Answer: | I measure it at 45mm or just 2 hairs over 1 3/4 inches. Maybe 1/32+ over 1 3/4. This was at it's widest point. Hope this helps you. |
Question: | What is the length of the three blades |
Answer: | I believe this knife is made in Germany! |
Question: | What grade of stainless steel |
Answer: | If you mean the very top, it's 3.175 mm. But that's deceptive, because while that's where the blade per se ends, it continues on to enfold about16 mm of the handle, providing more strength. |
Question: | in which country are the knives made |
Answer: | International is made in China. Good value. Could use 3 rivets in handle instead of 2. 4 star is heavier which means that it is easier to cut tougher items like carrots, meats, etc. 4 star is made in Germany. I personally use and have used Twin for many years professionally. Some for over 30 years. Just never put any good knife in the dishwasher! Hope that helps. |
