There are two diamond plates, one is coarse and the other is fine- running your finger down them will tell you which is which. Use the yellow guides on the ends of the sharpener to tell you what angle to sharpen your blade at. Maintain that angle the whole length of the plate as you slide the blade down it. Don't press too hard, let the plate do the work. If you press too hard you can roll the edge and make it harder to get a sharp edge quickly. Run the blade over the plate about 10 times on each side and then check for sharpness. Repeat until the edge is where you want it. Once you're happy, use the ceramic rod (there are three sides-smooth, ridged, and the fish hook sharpener) and run the blade- at the same angle you used to sharpen it, down the ceramic on alternating strokes until the edge is as sharp as you think you can get it. The leather strop works a little bit, but if you want a cheap strop to put a shaving edge on your blade just take a piece of cardboard and rub in some regular metal polish and let it dry. The cardboard has lots of silicate in it from the manufacturing process and with the polish it acts like a 3000 grit strop to put a fine polish on your cutting edge. Answer: | This is an amazing scope. Like the others have said handling a 416 rigby and a 338 win mag itll hold up to the 7.62x39 for sure. I know ur thinking probably about the continual jarring of a semi automatic but this scope holds up just fine. Best thing is u cant go wrong with vortexes warranty. I have two a 2-7x32 on my 375 HH, and a 3-9x40 on my .30.06, and only had one issue on the 3-9x40 from a shooting trip after i got it home i guess it got knocked around too hard and there was like dirt inside of the glass. I called vortex they sent me a sgipping label and said well fix it ir replace it and in a week or two i got my scope back good as new. I love vortex the scopes are great, and the customer service cant be beat. |

Answer: | I don't know about beef ribs. I use it on chickens and hard vegetables like winter squash. A hacksaw that's only used for meat handles larger jobs like ham bones. I'd be concerned about bone shards using the cleaver on beef ribs. |
