Question: Does the carving set knife fit in the block
Answer: TLDR- Yes, your carving knife will fit, but use bread knife instead. You'll thank me!Yes, there are several slots that can accommodate a wide range of knives from a small cleaver to the set of steak knives. At the top of the block the length of the slot is longer than the lower positions, so worst case scenario one of those slots should work fine. The knife in the carving set is essentially the same as one of the included knives, and I know I have both of them in there. Personally I really don't like the carving knife for carving though. If you're interested in a tip from a chef, then may I suggest using the bread knife instead. It makes the job so much easier. I rarely use either the carving knife or the...I think they call it a utility knife or something like that in this set. I mainly use the Chef's knife, bread knife, and pairing knife. I've yet to come across a task that couldn't be accomplished with one of those knives. Occasionally there might be something where I don't need the added weight and stiffness of the chef knife, and will instead use the utility knife. Usually, it's actually something more like the fact that the knife I want to use needs to be cleaned/wiped down first. Even when the utility knife might technically work as well or even perhaps just slightly better... I still pull out my chef's knife simply because it's the knife I use most frequently. I'm used to it. My hand knows it's weight, balance, speed, etcetera. If I were building a set, then these would be my choices in order:Chef's knifeBread knifePairing knifeCleaverFillet knifeBoning knifeMaybe a second Chef, Santoku, or Sashimi knifeThose first three are plenty for 95% of all the knife-work I do even as a chef. The next 3 come in handy when you need them, but the task can certainly be accomplished with one of the first three if needed. The last line is really just a convenience thing. It's pretty much like having extra dishes or glasses...unless you actually plan on making a lot of sashimi. If you're not a working chef, then I highly recommend just purchasing those first three individually or a small set like this that contains those three. The block, steel, and scissors really are handy, and I won't say no to an extra knife that I essentially get free with purchase. The scissors are great for processing a whole chicken...such as a rotisserie from the market perhaps. Yes, I buy rotisseries from the market too. They're good, and they cost about the same as just buying a chicken...often less. The only other thing I might suggest for a home chef besides what's on my list already would be a set of good steak knives. They are a nice thing to have, and hey...now you've got a convenient way to keep them without taking up room in a drawer or damaging their blades as they clink against other items. Oh, speaking of knife care... be mindful which way and how you insert your blades in the block. You don't want the blade resting on or rubbing against the block. So, I guess I've answered way more than you asked, but that's what I do. I go on tangents.

Question: We bought this set and was delivered with a missing knife
Answer: 5 1/2 wide 12 1/2 long
Question: Where are these knives made...China/Germany
Answer: Apparently, all knives should be hand washed and left to dry beforehand. But I've been putting them in the dishwasher and made sure they are dried and inserted into the block. I haven't seen any rust stains so far. But I'm sure eventually it may happen cause knives have an intension to rust if not hand washed. But it's not something you can't fix by just scrubbing the knives with a brillo pad again.
Question: Are they all same size. Hope not. Are they steak knives? Thet were not presented as such
Answer: No. The steak knives are serrated so no self sharpening slot to them. Only 4 slots are self sharpening as all others are serrated.
Question: Do people typically remove the little red Wusthof sticker logos on the knife handles, or keep them on? Will they eventually wear off, anyhow
Answer: It says yes but recommend hand Washing serrated steak knives. No they are heavy duty
