Answer:	We have had the full set since 1966 and use them daily and put them in the dishwasher. We also never had sharpened them but recently I went to a knife sharpening charity event for $1 per knife and had the straight edge knives sharpened. They are really a lot sharper than they were after nearly 50 years of use. I had forgotten just how sharp they could be. They would not sharpen the serrated edge knives and truthfully, they do not need it.
