High tech from tip to handle, Global knives from Japan created a sensation when they burst onto the world's culinary stage as an alternative to traditional European-style cutlery. Blades are made of hard molybdenum/vanadium stainless steel and "face-ground" with a long taper rather than a short bevel so edges remain sharp longer than even the best high-carbon stainless-steel knives. Edges also are ground at a more acute angle than traditional European-style knives and arrive from the factory razor-sharp. Although Global also makes a "heavyweight" line for cooks who prefer hefty knives, its original knives--of which this 8-inch chef's knife is an example--have thinner blades and are lighter than traditional European-style knives. Razor Sharp Edge
The most important feature of any knife is its edge, and the GLOBAL edge is truly its signature. The majority of the GLOBAL knives are sharpened or ground on both sides of the blade, just like Western style knives. However, their edges are ground steeply to a point as illustrated in Fig. 1, and to an acute angle. This is in contrast to Western or European knives that use a beveled edge, Fig. 2. The straight edge results in a dramatically sharper knife which stays sharper longer. The edge on a GLOBAL knife is so large and prominent that it is easily seen with the naked eye and extends a quarter of an inch or more up from the tip of the knife.
Cromova 18 Stainless Steel
CROMOVA 18 is a steel, with a special mixture of molybdenum, vanadium and chromium. The exact combination is our trade secret, but the steel is made to be hard enough so that the knives retain their sharpness, yet soft enough to sharpen with a whetstone. The high chromium content gives the knives excellent resistance to rust and staining.

Answer: | My order was fulfilled by Amazon, so they should be embarrassed. This bottle has 365 pills, so it obviously should have an expiration date of at least one year out from the date of sale. I purchased my pills in April 2020, and the expiration date is November 2020. Obviously, that means my bottle will expire with only half of the pills used. Not happy. I know this is not the seller's fault because they relied on Amazon to ship their product, and Amazon dropped the ball. To make matters worse, my package actually had a prominent sticker on it that indicated an expiration date of September 2021, but when I pulled the bottle from the packaging, I found that it's clearly marked as expiring in November 2020. I run out of pills from my old bottle in 2 days, so I don't have time to ship this back and get a replacement, so... I guess I'll be ordering from somewhere else in 6 months. I'm just posting this in case the seller might see it, so they know that Amazon is ruining their rep by shipping out product that does not have a reasonable expiration date. I am not leaving the seller a review, because it wouldn't be fair to downgrade them for something that is Amazon's fault. |

I'm not sure what the expiration date was, but it was not in my stock very long and assume it had at least a year or two left before it expired. Sorry about the slow response; I somehow let it get by me and didn't notice your inquiry until today. |

Pakkawood Handle
These traditional Japanese-style handles have a slight ridge on the right side, which fits into the curl of the fingers for a comfortable and secure grip. Viewed end-on, the shape resembles the capital letter "D". Pakkawood is waterproof, incredibly durable, and won't harbor bacteria.
