Answer: | Yes, and it will grind your beans as fine as you want. In fact, I would recommend backing off from the tightest setting at least 4-5 clicks unless you want your grind to be a fine powder. This grinder will give a finer grind than my electric burr grinder on its finest setting if that's what you want (although it takes some time and effort). I've found that, for me, about 5 clicks back is the sweet spot for a good espresso grind. Experiment with it to find your own, though. |

I've had my current one for about 3 years, and still slices through tomatoes like I was cutting paper with scissors!! The only reason I purchase multiples, is I do a LOT of cooking and cutting with it, and don't like to have to keep washing the same knife in between. I've tried about 15 other brands, and have definitely settled on this particular brand kas there are MANY others with the exact look, but either the handles fall off, or the handles give me blisters on my fingers from an uncomfortable shape. |

I bought this knife in 2015, only use it for sushi/sashimi, and it has not needed sharpening yet, and I am very picky about my knives being sharp. The non-stick coating works very well with sticky rice, although I wet the knife with water before slicing thru the rolls. |

Answer: | As far as I know any good cutting knife should be washed by hand and dried right after. A dishwasher can dull the blade and possibly rust if excess water is left sitting on it for a period of time. |
