Answer:	This doesn’t answer your question BUT I lost my cup and I emailed the company. They send me out a new one right away!

Answer:	Mine has a black bottom and no alarm. Although it shut off, because I expected an alarm (like that the one i had previously) I didn’t notice when it had finished. Question:	WHY do you have to poke a hole in the top of egg when hard boiling? If the egg bubbles out the hole, what's the purpose
Answer:	It's important to poke the hole into the fat end of the egg. This is because each egg has an air pocket at this end. And set the egg into the tray with the hole up so that this sulphury air can properly escape. You're venting the nasty stuff that you don't want infusing into the egg. Venting makes the eggs look great and taste great. Just remember, wide-end up.
Question:	Does this item have an automatic shut off
Answer:	Mine (the stainless steel with "No Alert" option) shuts off automatically. I've noticed that it will cut back on if left alone for several minutes, though. I guess the water drips back down from the dome and the sensor thinks it's time to cook again. Since that happened, I try to flip the switch off right after they're done.

Answer:	Yes, you can poach just one or two eggs at a time. Make sure you keep the empty cups in their space so you don’t get extra steam over the eggs you are cooking. The extra moisture will make a bad egg. By the way, this is the best poacher I have ever used...Enjoy!
Question:	Does the non stick poaching cups lose their ability for eggs not to stick over time
Answer:	I have only had mine for a short time, however the non stick coating is made of a quality material and if you hand wash them after each use I believe they should last for quite some time. I do spray a little Pam on mine before using. The eggs slide very easy either way.

Answer:	I'm not sure--you could order it and read the package or check with a local cooking store and see if they have one and ask them. Good luck!

Answer:	I can't tell if it's non-toxic, but I can tell you that the coating is not Teflon. It feels like an enamel. No matter how I oiled this egg poacher, the eggs always stuck to it. I tried "seasoning" it by oiling it and keeping it at low temperature for an hour or so. The eggs still stock. Getting them out of the pan always made a mess. I finally donated it to one of the local charitable organizations (which might not have been very charitable of me!)
Question:	What is the height of this item when it is sitting on a flat surface
Answer:	The actual pan is about 1 inch tall, and has a handle in the middle that is about a inch tall, so total 2 inches. It's meant to sit in a pan of water and the boiling water is what poaches the eggs. I even recommend spraying the pan with Pam cooking spray, makes it easier just to wipe clean. I bought 2 and one is great at the egg not sticking without Pam cooking spray, while the other the eggs would stick if I didn't use Pam cooking spray, Overall I still like them.

Answer:	I did not get instructions but I found them on line. You Just fill the pan with an inch of water then place the egg poacher on the pan. Fill the cups with up to 4 eggs and place the lid on it and keep the water boiling until the desired cooking time of your eggs (about ) five minutes and you are done. I do recommend lightly spaying or wiping the cups with olive oil to ease the eggs from the cups after cooking. I hope this helps.

1) Use a pot and fill it with 1 inch of water. 2) Spray non-stick cooking spray into the cups or grease them with a little piece of butter and then crack an egg into each cup. 3) After the water is boiling (set the heat to medium), place the poachers inside the pot and cover it with a lid. Always check to have at least 1 inch of water in the pot during cooking time. It is 80 seconds for 1000 watt microwave. And it is 70 seconds for 1100 watt microwave. Time is close to 60 secons for 1250 watts microwave. Cut 5-10 seconds if you want a runny yolk.
