Answer:	Not counting the handles or lid. To the very top it is 11". Across the top it measures 12" inside diameter. (the sides are straight, so the inside bottom should be the same) This will be fine for dry goods. If you are filling it with a liquid, then it is 9" high, just below the bottom rivets. If you fill it above the rivets, it will leak. If you are going to boil water, I wouldn't fill it any higher than 8" max.

Answer:	The review is correct. I purchased when living in a condo with gas burners. When I purchased a house with a glass top stove, my fears concerning the pot were confirmed. Bringing to a boil takes twice as long on the glass top. Time for an upgrade.

Answer:	Daniel O'Connor's information is correct. Inconveniently, the pot label does not specify directly if, and to what degree, the pot is oven-safe. The label does say the soft-touch handles are oven-safe up to 350 F.From the website: "Riveted soft touch silicone handles for comfortable handling; Oven safe to 350 F" The accompanying generic brochure that came with the 8 qt. stockpot: "T-Fal cookware with phenolic (plastic) handles, with or without metal inserts, or stainless steel handles with silicone inserts is oven safe to 350F/175C." The lid handle is phenolic. The glass lid is safe to 350 degrees F. From the generic brochure: "Refer to product packaging for further details on oven use." Sadly, the product packaging gave no further details about oven use. The brochure: "Questions? Call the T-Fal Consumer Relations Helpline in the USA at 800.395.8325...or visit us at www.t-falusa.com"

Answer:	Yes. It's sturdy and hard to damage. On the other hand, it's not terribly thick, so if your heat source is spotty, you may need to do a lot of stirring to prevent scorching. I personally allowed one pot full to boil dry and turn the contents to ashes, which didn't hurt the pot or its enamel finish at all.
