Answer: This is a great pan (got 2) ,love it ! One ☝️ for my son and for me. Biscuit pan for me ,keep it oiled.
Question: How does the manufacturer pre-season this pan....i.e., with what materials....resin, oil or
Answer: Think of seasoning like this: if a pan says it is "seasoned" by the manufacturer, that simply means it is "food grade anti-rust protection". You can use the cleaning mode on your oven to remove this layer and apply your own although it will heat up your house and stink it up as well with burnt oil. Your best bet is to take some sand paper to it and smooth it out so it's not so rough to remove some of the "seasoning" applied by the manufacturer and then reseason it with whatever you'd like. You can use pretty much anything you have on hand although I'd recommend something cheap but with a high smoke point like peanut oil or canola oil. I personally prefer peanut because when it burns it tends to smell sweet and canola tends to smell fishy. Aside from that if the above paragraph sounds like too much work, just start using it out of the box after washing it well and you'll never have to worry about it. The more you use it the better the seasoning will get. You can use wood, plastic or metal spoons or spatulas but I'd avoid plastic because it'll melt on ya. It will be strong like glass once it's seasoned properly. I personally use a sander on any new cast iron that isn't pre-polished. I know it will wear down over time but I just hate the rough finish it has and prefer to get it broken in quicker.

Answer: I don't know. Mine came with the handles. I use them like everyday. The handles are a big help when moving it. My husband doesn't cook, however he is my set up team in the morning. He chooses my pots and skillets. Since I started using thee, he always have one or both on the stove waiting. My mom loves to fry fish and chicken in her cast iron pot. She told me buy cast iron and take care of them and they will out live any skillet I own. So I will get her a set and write the seller about the handles. If doesn't get the handles as promised, I would send it back also, unless the agree to send the handles. The skillets are with keeping.

Answer: The cooking surface is flat and the sides curve slightly. It is a wonderful pan. We have the 8 and 12 inch.

Answer: The CTQ was developed by SurLaTable and they originally described the difference when they were only sold through their store as having a better handle and better glass lids. Since neither of those was important to me I bought the CTX through Amazon which was less expensive.

Question: Why do they stick when you make scrambled eggs
Answer: As a general rule, I always re-season my cast iron before 1st use. I know most come saying that they are preseasoned but you don't know how long ago or what oil was used. You'll find a lot of recommendations out there for oil for seasoning but here's what I do and why: I use a parchment or wax paper ball to thinly coat the cast iron in coconut oil. Coconut oil has natural antimicrobial properties, doesn't go rancid quickly like vegetable oil or sunflower oil and isn't gone after one or two uses like bacon grease. I heat the pan in the oven for about an hour and then I have a nonstick surface. if you don't get the seasoning right or you don't preheat the pan, it can cause really bad sticking

Swiss Diamond Nonstick is constructed of multiple layers of specially developed and carefully selected materials. Our Classic cookware begins with a cast aluminum foundation. Liquid metal is cast into molds under high pressure so it will never warp. This produces a perfectly flat base resulting in even heat distribution. The foundation is then sandblasted and prepared for plasma coating, which eliminates oxidation and forms an extremely strong bond with our proprietary nonstick coating. Finally, each piece is finished with three layers of our, diamond reinforced, PFOA free, patented, nonstick coating.

Sustainable Manufacturing.

Swiss Diamond is committed to green manufacturing practices. The factory is powered by 100% hydroelectric power from the Swiss Alps, and the production process is free of PFOA from start to finish. An undrinkable water source is used to supply the cooling system and coating lines, and water used in the coating lines is recycled.

All products are made with recyclable aluminum; irregular items and scrap leftovers from the factory are recycled within the production process. Furnaces are powered by natural gas, and the factory runs 24/7 to ensure that furnaces are fully utilized.

We manufacture the coating material in-house, importing each component to our Swiss factory and mixing it ourselves. This reduces transportation emissions, packaging, and associated environmental impact. Cleaning and Caring for Your Cookware

Interior Cleaning: The nonstick cooking surface on your cookware ensures easy cleanup with just soap and water. Should burnt grease or food residue collect on the surface, it can usually be removed with warm water and a mild detergent. For extreme cases, residue can be removed with a thorough cleaning using Soft Scrub. Do not use abrasive cleansers, steel wool or coarse scouring pads.

Discoloring on cookware and/or handle will not affect performance. Stains may be lightened by gently rubbing surface with Bon Ami or baking soda and a damp cloth. Commercial cleansers are not recommended.

Your cookware is dishwasher-safe. However, we recommend hand-washing and drying to optimize the life and performance of the interior and exterior finishes. Remember to remove the silicone grip from handle before washing and make sure grip is completely dry before reinserting handle.

Answer: It is 12" across the top. It is rounded on the sides and only about 1.5" deep, so it does not hold as much as the 12" skillet I was replacing. It is great, as nothing seems to stick to it!

Answer: The answer is NO. The reason is because it's non-magnetic (aluminum). Induction cooking REQUIRES stainless steel or cast iron (copper, brass, glass doesn't work). (e.g. Put chopped filet mignon with onion, raw egg and seasoning in a non-ferrous pan, put it on an induction cooktop, turn the temperature to maximum, let stand for 5 minutes and voila... you get steak tartare.)
Question: Is this cookware PFOA free
Answer: The Cuisanart 622-30G 12” skillet I received comes with a removable sticker label on the inside nonstick coating that says QuanTanium by Whitford. The Whitford website states cookware is “Our PFOA-free coatings, specifically designed for use in the Cookware market...” The QuanTanium coating fact sheet states ”PTFE, made without PFOA”.
Question: Is the pan induction ready
Answer: No it is not. The pan is made out of aluminum, which is not a ferrous metal. Induction cooktops require using cookware that a magnet will stick on. Cast iron and carbon steel pans are the natural cookware choices. Stainless steel pans have to be made with 18/0(zero) steel to be compatible. All other cookware metals require a thin layer of 18/0 stainless steel on the base of the pan for them to work on an induction stove.

Answer: after buying a brand new Michaelangelo 10" fry pan six months ago that had this issue, i was wondering why new fry pans have a convex shape. interesting to see that cheap pans can do this by mine was right out of the box. reading reviews of so many different fry pans of that size, i'm surprised to see reviews both saying that the pans are flat and convex for the same make and model with differing review dates. being that this question was asked in 2013, i guess this is either a manufacturer design us mortals don't know about or a long-standing design issue?
